Good fun and a way better crew compared to yesterday. With no Bobson OSR I had to guess the conditions using only Trial, Ogden, Gonzales, Ross Bay LIVE and Dallas Road LIVE. Fun little waves with perfect ramps - need to put those straps back on! Came in and some small asian kid hands me a beer - nice! He says once he gets older he wants to wing and do back loops. One day I think he will, I just wish I could remember his name.

Warmer today. Lots of sun with the odd cloudy period. Good wind all day, but a bit gusty. Just a handful of people on the water. Made a few gybes, but not like I was doing previously. I've got a few more days to get back in the groove.

A little overpowered on the 7m and foil. Played both on the Ross Bay side and Cooks St. Kelp is growing, with a few that that break free and acted like kelp minefields that can be tricky to avoid. A fun chilled out session.

Arrived to MarkA packing up and RobDS deciding what to wear and 12-15kts. Rigged the 5.2m Flyer and big board and headed out at 11:30am, and yes, seems like I'm turning into the early bird but basically it was perfect Bobson Conditions. Went out for an hour before anyone else showed up to keep RobDS and I company. Danno and MF4 came out to play in the building swell. I decided I'd had enough so came into the beach to be greeted by DOG, Sammy!, TunaCan, and others rigging up on Goat Hill. I saw BW's van but ... (more)

Happy to play in the lesser winds at Willows. RB looked a bit too big for me. Lots of gusts in the bay and the usual holes. Big wind past MTI, but I stayed in the bay and practiced my gybes. First session with 6mX3 and was OP'd all the time. Switched to 5mX3 for the second session. I could have gotten away with the 4m. Gustiness made it tough to learn to gybe, but the power was welcomed.

First checked out Gordons Beach, hoping I could try out the spot, but looked like there was a ton of kelp out there (not sure if that's the norm?) and no one in sight despite being crazy windy.. so I checked out Sooke Basin instead. Got to the basin, rigged up a 6.2 and it felt pretty OP so I quickly came back and rigged the 5.7 which felt just right. Tried out the new fin and felt the improvement almost immediately once I was on the water. Would have stayed longer if the wind didn't die off.. I'm sure it p ... (more)

Never been much of a surfer mostly sup riding along a wave with no turns but was so stoked to do some proper s turns at the bottom and top of a wave feeling all the speed and force coming out of the wave was awesome. Did one set of figure eights turning both directions that I couldn't replicate again but that one wave felt perfect, Growing my hair long and moving to Bali I'm hooked.

Started on the foil but found the gustiness not that fun. Did not feel too dialed in. So I switch to my slappy board and sailed that for most of the time. It was a bit light at times but still pretty fun. Managed to barely sail out of a few loops.

This was an intense day. The wind was blowing and it was consistent. Big rollers. Long troughs some of the best turns I've been able to pull off. And the most I've been able to do. Not much but a lot of progress. Hard to learn on a day like today. But at least the conditions were consistent. note that this is the first day I would have preferred something smaller than a 3 m. While it was controllable, it was at the top end of the threshold.

Fabulous session. 4.0 was too big and 3.0 just right. Foul to very back of track had my feet back on the pads. Started to just relax and enjoy the waves and not sheet in too hard and bear off a little if needed. Some good falls from height dropping down the wave face and almost making my jibe. Many happy faces

Big Saturday. Wind was cranking when I got there at 1pm and didnt stop the whole time. Well powered on the 3.5 which I feel might be seeing the end of her days. Becoming a lot more comfortable jumping and landing consistently. The enjoyed the swell today and felt like was able to link a few together. So tired this evening, big session took it out of me.

First day back at Gordon's in a couple years. Just Hajo and I owning the mediocre what happen to Gale conditions. Few lil swellers and times where the wind jacked up. Better than some and worse than many. Fun sailing there again and reminiscing all the good times over the years. Highlight may have been the trailing blackberries and salmon berries.

Finally tried my 38L surf foil board. Got up 3 times with extended time on foil being careful to not fall. Took 20 attempts at least to get to my feet each time, paying my dues. Progressed at getting on my knees. Felt awesome to ride swell on the small board. It ripped! Love my new mast. Switched to 80L board and rode some juicy swell off Clover. Got there at 4 for max flood. Back eddy was working with the swell. Missed the crowd and was the only one out for a bit. Great wing week!

With insufficient Bobson OSR data at Ross, went to Pat Bay for a great session. Did some long legs out to, fortunately, decent wind outside, although was underpowered on the 4m most of the time. Gusting 25 but usually 15-20. But happy with my light wind 4m with that big 1010png foil. Went all the way past end of Wain Rd. then was going to go all the way to Yarrow Pt but looked light over there at that time.
Went back in and did gybe practice. Landed a couple gybes and footswitches from port to starboar ... (more)

Well Bobson's OSR wasn't accurate at all, 15 ?? it was more like 30. Great smooth swell at first that gradually turned messy as the wind increased. There was some fun swell mixed in with the chop but was hoping for a bit more with the 30+ knots. Should have checked out Craigflower Crick I guess.

Fun session with the bog stuff. Crazy upwind legs and down wind flow. Solo session. Was a little cool in my light wet suit and when a lull came though I called it, but it picked up again.

Just a few there when I arrived, but then loads of folks when I got blown off the water. The 4.5 m was okay, but too much of a handful on the outside in the swell.coming back in.

Great to use the 5m again and spent the majority of the time on the Ross Bay side. Around the 40min mark headed over to Cook St. Unfortunately that is when my chicken loop somehow came out off my hook, with the bar launching towards my kite on the safety line. The kite flagged out, but my outer lines where crossed and tangled with the centre lines, managed somehow get my chicken loop back into my harness hook with the rockin' wind and got the kite the launched again and dragged my sorry ass back in to Clo ...
