OMG I'm beat. Fun day at CB in the cold and rain. Up and down but 5.0 worked the whole time. Mega low tide and so-so swell made for less than classic wave riding but I nailed a couple of lips. Couldn't get a backie around to save my life - 15 or so back-drops, and no forwards.

Nicest session this year so far. First full on since my back ingury. Yeahhhhhaaaa :D Jumping , switch stancing, duck jibing. Saweeeeet! I want more! Doc let me use his custom Wind Obsession and now I know Doc's secret :wink: But I won't tell anyone.... oh well... may be for a smal fee :wink: This board flies pretty good, quick on a plane, nice and sweet. IV at its best :D :D :D Flood tide brought smooth, steep, slashable faces to middles. lines of waves at times. No sticks, no weeds, no shorebreak :!: BWD and Geoff both looking particularly mean in the waves. IV has ruled this winter. I've had luck there like never before. Of course, saying that is a guaranteed curse for next year.

Powered 5.0 fun. Tried lots of forwards on the small chop, need to rotate a bit more to really nail a dry one.
RD let me try his Evo 70. Sweetest board I've ever sailed. Would love to have one for 4.7 and windier days on the Oregon coast or CB!! Snaps turns on a dime and feels pretty fast. Thanks RD!
Steph got out for some freezing 5.0 fun too before we had to get back home to pack for the move. Nice to get two days back to back.

got out too late...TOW includes time in water...wind switched south then pissed out on me totally, no way to get back to lee of clover or anywhere...found self drifting helpless in the flood tide towards trial island...hoping for a pickup...called in the angels..and behold a westerly...which got me, without swimming, to the west end of ross bay...thanks to... god and those who watch over me... :wink:

Felt like winter again - 7 degrees, about as cold as New Years! Very gusty at first, wore myself out trying to slog/waterstart in lulls. Some very fast fun runs, made 2 stb gybes and 1 port, was happy given chop and very powered conditions - at end 4.5 would have worked nicely. Sun out after I came in, looked great! Chris throwing loops all over.

Company great :P kept playing wind dummy but it really wasn't...windy that is, in fact it sucked pretty much pretty hard pretty much all not-so-pretty icy :evil: day. <1hr on the water (only cuz I slogged to Port Angeles one tack to see the shit slick :x & check the wind :oops:) <20min decent sailing, 4+ hrs. on the beach :roll: Icecream headaches, delam-ed sail (that's 2 in as many days). After a long wait (smelled like skunk, but finally got a nice squall), OPed on the 5.8 for a while, got one NEARLY planing gybe when OP on the outside, spinning out in head-on chop when OP, too much sail & fin, but better just to try and sail it than to try and fix it, it changed so fast up and down. Almost had to swim in last run. Loads of people out. NICE to be out there even if only 1/2 hour!

:D drove past gordos at 7am, it was cranking so i went further west looking for waves. jr looked ok so i rigged my 5.3 freak and went out on a borrowed starboard surf89 (thanks Lee!). was perfect for about an 1.5 hrs, jamming wave turns in the bay. nobody showed up! then it nuked for about 15 minutes w/ hail then shut down. i paddled out for a couple on my surfboard then grabbed a burger at shakeys and left. i got suckered by a squall at gordos on the way home, went out again on the 4.7 and JP for ma ... Was expecting nothing, got something. :) lucky to grab some wind early on. :) Smooth sailing for an ebb. a few tricks. then, got holy and squally. Sailed the puffs with the Doc and a few kites. Enjoyed the hail on one run, very refreshing, and provides more power in the sail :?

First session on the Waroo kite, it's a Supported Leading Edge (SLE) flat kite. The depower is awesome, and jumps were my highest ever. Steep big ramps, great fun in the waves.
Did a major bar booboo while spinning and landed HARD neck first for some excellent rag doll whip lash. Things happen fast at 30 knots.
Best Session this year. :D

Missed the big winds of mid-afternoon but a not bad after work sesh - except I was only one out, BWD and RD came down the stairs to watch for a bit. Coldest my hands have been all winter and I was wearing gloves. Jl says 2 C windchill. Made all my outside (missionary) jibes, but only one inside one. ?not enough power? I think I only sailed 1/2 hour, but from driving up to leaving was 1 3/4 hours.

Normally I don't leave wind to find wind, but Colin & I were looking 4 waves :twisted: ..still looking despite 'sure' forecast. Barely powered except for brief 3/4hr of Jesus riding, otherwise :oops: :roll: nice 2.5hr scenic drive. Gordo's rockin' as we went by (Geoff scored), not sure why we never went back, suppose really wanted those smooth rights :? some decent Rivermouth ramps, Art&Giles out, coolish & dare I say boring, long sesh though 8)
