Nice day with Idefix & Highrocker. Water was very warm. There were lots of windsurfers and a few new wing foilers.

First session was very challenging. Took a break and the wind died a bit and the tide started flooding. Second session was much nicer with less chop and less gusts.

Out early in very light wind, lots of pumping but put in 30kms before lunch. Foil ballet with BigD was fun. Wind was lighter today never hit 20kts. TunaCan and JJ made and appearance and a certain foil made a disappearance. Mr. Renegade came and sun tanned on the beach. 130+ kms today but had some schlogging to begin with so took awhile to get there.

Launched from south gordon's, nice to see EF at the beach. A fun 15 minute downwind through OPZ tidal flood rip, then an hour or so upwinding against the current, nearly to Tugwell. Wild stacked waves below the point, like a black diamond mogul run. Swells were way bigger near otter than upwind. I shoulda kept going to Sooke and got a ride back.

Took Luke to work. Had lunch. Basically wasted too much time. Wind was as good or better than the morning. Till I decided to rig up and give it another go. No planing but tried lots of tacks n jibes. I suck. Fun to be on the water again. Warmer than the morning.

Expected to slog but got rewarded with some powered runs. Some wind in close at times and somtimes it was way out there. Hate to say but my best windsurf session so far this year. Nice to have Axelporker wing circles around me when I was slogging. Ha! I know...pathetic right? Good workout carrying gear back in with the low tide. Seems windier now than when I was out so going back to the beach for a second look.

Got there early to put on the straps and was stoked to get on the water. The stoke didn't last long however since the front straps were too far back (in middle postn) and the rear (front postn) made my stance too damn wide. After 20min I gave up on the backs and tried the fronts only. That sucked slightly less but I gave up in frustration. Had fun strapless and stuck around for the evening swell session.

Made it to the spot early, pumped up the 12 but it quickly built so went over to the 9. Went and cruised around on the ross bay side shortly joined by Marcelo. Great sesh with very smooth waters, lots of kiters filtered in over the next hour. Managed to even get a few speed runs in before packing it in.

Bummed to have been out of town the last week & miss all the recent windy days, but glad I caught this one :)

Had to hunt around for good sized swells but got a few flagged out rides from Clover all the way into the bay with some pumping to link bumps. Time to don the straps or risk being left behind with the air show. The kelp is starting to rear its ugly heads.

Bobson had an early-ish stop, and camping next door, so I asked him how far he went. He said 137 km. I had done 105 km in the first two sessions and had one more in me. Went for an late/afternoon sail with the 6 m / HA1125. Was generally pretty powered up. Had some sailing gloves from Jesse / Dirty Mermaid that certainly helped (that and some regular exercises with a Theraband flexbar). It's been great to get out of wearing thick winter gloves. Maybe time for a hook/harness?

Wind was a little off shore creating the usual hole near the beach.

Starting to get a few gybes, but regularly lose the balance or the turning arc. I.e. more crashes than completions.

Lots of company on the water, including the coast guard hovercraft making a pass.

Maiden wing voyage on a 5.0 wing... wasn't planned but glad I tried it. Managed to stand up, almost foil (then crash) but mostly did a big down winder as I got the hang of flying the wing. Managed to steer into every kelp head possible. Stayed on the inside where the wind was a bit a bit too light but was trying to avoid getting into the lumpier water for my first time out. Would like to try it with a better leash situation and maybe a bigger board to start. Thanks for the wing loner (and push to try ... (more)

A short but sweet session. Focused on toe-side work into turns. Something have i somehow totally neglected. Helping me break through on a number of levels but also the hard work spending much of my time wiping out. Learning in micro increments. Some excellent long swell-to-swell surfs early in the session and than things softened. I waited around to see if things would pick up but eventually had to leave for other commitments. The bay was filling in just as I was pulling out :)

Woke up to one of the craziest sunrises I have ever seen. wow. What a beautiful place. Got up early and re-nested into the hammock with the sleeping bag till about 8:30am. Wind began to come in around 10ish. Rigged the 5.7 at first but ended up trying out the 6.2 and that seemed to do the trick. Lots of power! Not as much wind as yesterday but still managed to get up on a plane at some points throughout the day. Trrrrrrying to get into those footstraps but man is that board so much more responsive than the ... (more)

Waited around with BWD as we debated whether riding with footstraps was cool or not; he decided it was cool and threw them on. Great two hours on the watta until the bladder of my strut decided that was that. During my peaceful 40 minute paddle in with a not-so-impressive soft wing, it was nice to watch the air show go down from Pepe and Winddoc. Thanks for the beer Tweezer, that was needed.

Beautiful day, just a bit light on wind at times. I was time limited due to a commitment, so I didn't put the big foil on. Managed some reaches before I had to go, but it was a struggle at times. Wind picked up nicely as I was leaving.

Not quite the cranker I'd hoped for. So inspiring seeing Pepe throwing nice rotations and a couple of tricks that happen so fast it's hard to know what happened! Big crew of happy and stoked sailors out. Happy to be back on 1000/205. Surfy/poppy/speedy!

First time on the 5m, lots of fun and a fast kite. After launching on the Ross Bay side quickly made my way over to Cook St just in case the wind would lull, but instead the wind was consistent and warm. Great day on the water.

Wind started at 10am with 10-15kt wind line coming down the lake. Did some campsite chores then onto the big board and 5.2m for an hour and did 34kms, new record for me. Then onto the small board and 3.9m for 2.5 hours to play in the swell and back on the 5.2/big board for last 45 mins. 137kms today, could have easily done 150 but BigD came in so it was celebratory Coronas on the beach. The wind eased a little as i rigged but that's ok as I started perfectly powered on the 5. It was sideshore and really steady for 20 minutes then got some holes and stronger gusts and veered west. Played with that till the wind got too much and rigged down to 4.0. Could have been on a 3.5 or smaller at the end riding flagged out or luffing a lot of the time. Waves starting to form. Gybes getting closer I think. Trying to figure out how to keep carving the turn past downwind I seem to stall there always an ... (more)

Nice to get out from 6 to 830 on the outgoing tide.

Sweet morning and missed the few weeds.

Selling a whole North Sonar wind foil package on BC kiteboarding!
