Woke up at 6am to a dismal series of lighthouse reports. Went back to bed for an hour and then rechecked reports. Looked a bit better so Wingnut and I headed up to CB. Arrived to utterly piss-poor conditions and RD standing around with a 6.7 rigged :evil: . Mattdog was riding the skim board on a 12m kite (I think). Light wind fooling around session.
Plained right off the beach on my 5.5 had a few excellent runs and then it died.
I decied to rig up 6.7 (why? :shock: ) and had light wind sess in the shalow section ( could have stayed on my 5.5 for that ). Finished up my session with another couple of planing runs.
Too bad I had to go to work. The wind picked up the minute I left the beach.
....And after reading all the posts above now I need a real session!

Wind was very light but it had been two weeks since the last session and I couldn't bear to stand around so I did a downwind run and walked back three or four times. Finally it filled in enough to stay upwind. A little better after a half hour. The wind faded for a bit then came in again. Then it got goofy again. Still, nice to get out! JL and Mike were persistent and got some more TOW.

:D :D :D :D :shock: After a fully wound up session at CB, I arrived home to a well powered up "backyard". I took out some rigged gear (7.5 way too much but ready to use) and had a great high speed session (52.3 kmh). Nice way to finish things off. The wind on the far side of Nanoose Bay was easily 5.0, which made things a bit nuts "can you say sheeted out" with big gear...... :D :D :D

After a while, I came to the humble realization that 4.2 was way over powered (way). When I got back on the beach, a few with low 3m2 sails were getting ready to sail. Fun Fun and certainly humbling to feel the power of nature. "This sure ain't Nininat!!!". :D :D :D

:D Dunkinguy and I arrived at 11:30 to find Jose' OP on his 4.7 so we rigged our small sails. By the time I got on the water it was nukin and I was wishing I owned a 3.2 and a much sinkier board. Pretty much survival sailing for the first hour or so then dropped a little bit overall but still with mega gusts as more guys arrived. :D Spent a fair bit of time deciding what to rig with BWD et al. Finally Jason went out with 5.8/91L, and with his very powered ride in sight, I decided 6.0. Sailing was good, but very, very soft in places. One good downwind walk from a "lack of wind", and some nice chop hopping when things were up. Caught 2 smallish waves on inbound tacks..... :)

:D :D An unusually flat day at Columbia. Met James at the beach, and spent the first ~2 hours on the GO/6.0 (no forward loops :)). When things kicked up, had a fine session of 6.0/95L. :) :) Thanks to Dave for the new camera with the zoom!!!

Arrived to a veritable horde of sailers at CB. Launched at about 3pm and the wind peaked up beautifully to 20 knots for about 40 minutes. Totally sweet dialled in session. Lovin' it.
I hear bwd is getting a 12m kite for the marginal days - right on ! :D :D
