Nice start to the week, coffee/raisin bread thx Pat :D , sun & nobody out except yours truly til Pat bit, few others & another fogbank glorious day; came up nicely w/ windline at 12, sailing by 1215 til 2, building to decent 6.0, thought it would get bigger but had to leave early today. 3 sails, not a kite in sight today til I left. Nice bunch of helis, a few ducks both ways w/shortboard, doesn't like a 6 :? ; odd wavelet lent itself to riding a bit even :P

should have gone 14. kind of boring session, to be honest, but the last one of the year for the lake. perfecty smooth wind, and nothing to complain about, but lacked inspiration. just me, rob crease and dan out.

Was the wind dummy & enjoyed solitude of the lake for quite some time, then w/MB 4 another 1/2 hr; counted 22 kites at one time & many fewer sails; same as yesterday only w/a bit of 5.4 shortboard rushhour, giving opportunity to try my Angulo, slow but slashy, likes smaller sails 4 sure. Spent best of evening wind towing a kiter in, poor timing.

Could be last day at Nitinat this year, so Just let the wind carry the memories of another good one through the afternoon. Trying to figure out how to get lift out of the kite so I can taste some of the airtime...counted 21 kites on the water at the peak.

:D :D A fantastic day. Morning coffee with J, Kus (nice Cafe!!!), MF4 and MB. Built slower than yesterday, but still initially a Go/7.5 when I went out. After ~1hr, switched to the 111/7.5, which hit 46.4kmh on a downwind reach. Switched to the 6.0 for ~45 min, but as MF found, it was a wee bit light in places. Back to the 7.5/111, then a few final sets on the Go/7.5. The Night wind came in at ~6PM, but I decided to forgo a last 6.0 session.... :D :D :D

Session 50! On the water by 12:30, already enough power to plane easily, made a bunch of planing gybes in a row  switched to the 89 litre board after an hour - fantastic for about 45 min, then didn't want to float near the beach, switched to big gear - felt like driving a semi after sportscar - but it picked up again for another go on the little board. Dropped off again, so I geared big, but it picked up again after I quit at 4 -- Philipe was racing a bud and practicing duck jibes (he made them too! ... (more)

The wind built more slowly today. Followed Kus out on the water at ~12:30 on the GO140 and Retro7.5. We went up wind to Knob Point and had a blast even though it was a little lite in the bay. By about 1:30 it cranked up a couple of notches so I switched to the Carve 121 and NorthXXX6.2. Loads of fun for the next couple of hours - very steady wind. Didn't miss a jibe for an hour and a half - a record for me! Switched up to the 7.5 on the Carve at about 4:30 when the wind dropped off a little. Nicce co ... (more)

Arrived at 3:00 pm to whitecaps. Was fully powered on the 8.5M for 2 hours... shooting downwind on the lulls... ripping upwind in the gusts, racing with Chris S. and his 9.0M. The water was very flat (no boats) which was great for effortless high speeds on the big stuff. There were 5 sailors and 1 kite (big dude on 18M?) out. Sailed in a shorty wetsuit, not bad for late September at Harrison. :D :D

:D Aa nice Nat day. The beginnings were Go/7.5, and a bit light downwind. Went to River/Knob Point, and stayed in the wind for 2 hours up there. Back down for a nice reach at 44.7 kmh with MB, then out on the 111 for 2 hours. Finished off the day with the Go/7.5. A nice 7.5 Fall day, with a bit of 6ish wind, but not enough to justify the rigging. :D

Broke the windsurf drought of over a month. :P  Powered on 7.5 starting 1:30, overpowered by bout 3, rigged 5.8 listening to the wind drop in the trees, got a couple of runs before switching back to 7.5. Made lots of planing gybes, slogged through many more. Wished I'd brought my Adagio, but the Astro does jibe forgivingly! Great beach time with Vic, Kus, Mike, Janet & Chris, Pat & Rick, Philipe & Mariel, etc.

The RKA forecast was right on. Made the trip for a 2 day fix. Impressive looking windline rolled down the lake at about noon and I hit the water at 12:30 with a GO140 and Retro7.5. Slogged for a half hour then the wind kicked in for some solid bigger gear sailing. Got a couple of runs in on the 121 and 6.2 but only about 15 min worth. Great late Sept. sailing and it was warm to boot! Lots of friends there Chris and Janet, Vic, KUS, MF4, Pat and Rick, etc. An excellent day. :D :D :D

A good turn-out today. I'm beginning to like September more than in years past. Good to have Bill out there, just starting his first body drags today!

Esquimalt was fantastic. :D :D :D Planed all the way over to Cook St again. Turned around near Finlayson Pt as the wind got a bit flukey. Otherwise, nice steady wind until about 4pm and then it died off a bit. No whales today  but I got followed by the harbour patrol for a while. I don't think they like me 8) Fun little session.

Stayed at the Lake Friday PM with GA. Started the day on the GO/7.5, and after a while switched for the 111. Things softened in the late afternoon, so back on the GO, then off for dinner. I was ready to pack it up, but the night wind reared up and I had ~45 min of way overpowered 7.5 sailing before unrigging in the dark.... :) :)

Sub whitecapping but still planning on the formula stuff! Had to work for it but managed to plane to James Island and back 3 times. 4 run was slow and slogged back to the beach while fighting the current.

I thought the wind was done when I got there. Then it picked up for an extra 30min before turing SW. I had been iching all day to get out, so any kiting was great! Nailed my first toeside tacks.
