Well, took out 'the one' kite by OR. Very interesting. Very smooth kite, and very smooth, steady wind and flat water made for a nice combination. Seems as though it is easier to get going quickly in lighter wind. The above is only an estimate, as there was about 5 knots on the beach and obvioulsy more aloft. Was on short lines on a day where long lines would be much preferred.

A very comfortable kite and easy to fly in the lightest wind. Also saw it out on Friday in 25+, so it would appear to live up to ... (more)

Went to Maryhill to wait for the wind. No Go. Drove to Doug's at 1600. Guys were dogging. By the time we had headed back around Rowena was on. Grumpy, the Gman and I were lit up for two hours of solid blasting. Nothing beats drag racing with the bro. The perfect end to a solid trip.

:D A great day in the back yard. 7.5 was a touch overkill at the break water, but fine in the bay. Solid winds, with some gusting as things eased to a more southerly blow. I got a bit downwinded in the wind shift, but enjoyed the excellent scenery in my "Walk of Shame". Had I waited at the side of the bay for an hour, the wind shift to NW would have let me sail home!!! Next time.... :? :)

On the water at 1500. Good ripping for an hour and a half. Decided to come and grab the old Carve to practice the ground work for Forwards. I put the wetsuit and impact harness on and spent the next hour and a half getting flung. I was getting quite comfortable going over the handlebars with out the feet in the straps so I figured it was time to try a real one. My first Hucking attempt sent me flying over 20 feet (without the board) My second attempt more painful than the first. I just ended up in a big mes ... (more)

Well, the forcasts were correct (you gotta have a so so day every now & again, right?. It was foggy/cloudy in the morning, and with a lack of open/clear skies inland, it was a great day for BIG gear. A nice planing session for >8m sailors (few) and when the storm came in, for those with smaller gear.... The rain drove us away, as waking up in a tent in the rain is not very appealing..... :)

First time sailing Island View and one of the best days of the year for me. Sunshine, warm water, smooth wind and juicy swells. Had a really dialled in session - nailing jibes (mostly), riding swells, and hitting some nice ramps. Wind was a bit light inside but I was fully powered up further out all the way over to JAmes Island.

The only downer was that the wind shut off really quickly and I had a bit of a slog/swim back to the beach. Nice place to sail though. MOre please

Could've been on my 4.0 right from the start but I had rigged the 4.7 so I sailed that for 30 min. really powered on the outside and then rigged down. Sailed the 4.0 for the first time and loved it! Sweet handling and surprisingly good low end power. This was def. the windiest Gordo's day for me this year. There was a very strong ebb which kind of messed up the waves but lots of fun anyway. Got all giddy seeing the Sooke basin all frothy. Arrived at G's to find the boyz (and girlz) flattening their 4.2s and 4.7s. Yeah ! Windiest day at Gordo's for me this year, but small chop. Tried lots of forwards, was tring to summon the nerve to toss more on port. No dice, feeling rusty. Good to feel the stoke again.
