:D Decided to Sail from Nanoose to Lantzville. The long run (7 km?) was interrupted be a wierd wind circle at the confluence of winds from Nanoose Bay and the Strait. This had me reaching in circles for an hour or more. The final 'escape' to Lantzville resulted in a wild, way overpowered downwind run. The go board was skipping from crest to crest. Much cleaner wind today. Very powered up on the 5.0. Landed two backs, robbed on a few not having my back hand far enough on the boom on landing, as the rig got ripped from my hands. Landed two forwards nearly dry for the first time! Just gotta stay sheeted in a bit longer. Oceanside is my new favorite spot. Had the most fun wave session yet! Incredibly beautiful spot!! Easy launch, friendly waves, side-off wind. Super gusty, difficult wind, but stupid fun when it was on! Launched some fun backs, forwards, got some small aerials. Trev was hucking some great backs, Dave was ripping the waves like a pro.

Tried more forwards...woohoo. Conditions weren't the greatest - not many ramps and the wind was a bit light but I finally started to get over some of the fear. Rotated all the way round on a couple. Just need another day with a bit more wind and bigger waves. Probably heading to the coast today with Winddoc and Trev.

Harrison has blown 15+ eight days in a row and I have sailed 6 of them. Nice. Today was one of the better ones....finally got off the 8.5 and sailed 6.9 for the entire sesh...overpowered so I put the helmet on. A great day.

Arrived at 4:00 at the Lake, on the water by 4:30 on the 12 but the wind was too light for it, so handed it off to Sandra. Didn't get out on the 14 until 5 or so, but was able to stay out for an hour and a half by going upwind to the bay, where it was onshore and lifty. Warm water! :D

The windiest day yet. Busy too. A bit choppy and too damn windy to try anything other than swell riding and jumping. Had a 5.0 session with Winddoc after down at the Marina. So far its been a great trip - 12 out of the last 13 days sailing...

Over powered from the start. Big skate ramps everywhere, huge crowd on the water, classic Gorge sailing. Had two whippy forwards aided by the fresh 30 plus gusts, then had to cut my session short due to technical difficulties. Shot some phoots of Dunkinguy hucking some nice forwards and one BIG shuvit. Also got some shots of the pros ripping it up. Later sailed the ripples downwind of the sandbar at the Marina for some 5.0 freestyle flatwater fun.

2 hours into it Tweezer and Fish joined me for a little toe to toe slalom sailing. Did a couple of course like races to the end of the lake and back. Watch out for that Fish. He can point like a sword.
Broke the starboard boom on the far side. Took 10 minutes to flip it and sail in. Thanks for the help holding my rig steady Fish.

Wow, what a day. Did everything I came for! Few duck jibes, lots of tack attempts a couple of 360 attempts ( they are better bare feet, because booties get caught in straps ). Sailed till it died. Then took a little walk with Azat down to the river. Good to see old friends. :) Too bad I couldn't stay longer. :(

Sailed the long distance race today from Nexen beach up to the pulp mill and back with a smaller second lap. Waaaay OP'd at the end. Nicely powered for most of the race. Didn't come last and didn't wipe out until I actually HIT the beach...over the handlebars and down the sail....nice landing Dood!! Too much fun sailing with (waaaay behind) some big names in Formula racing. Good Times!! :D

Good to get out on water again. Did some suicide forwards despite the fact I still can't quite remember how to gybe. Tried a LOT of helitacks with varying amounts of success. Great to be there with a lot of new and old/familiar faces
