Fun day at the Hatch with the Vic crew. Had some of my best gorge forwards to date. BWD buckled to peer pressure and hucked 4 loops! YEAH! Wind got gusty/flukey later and I played in the puffs and cursed in the glassy spots. Warm water, wind. I could get used to this.

:) A bit of a late start, but a good day overall. The wind was a bit unsteady due to clouds over the Cow valley, and with a lacking fog bank, 6.0 was the ticket..... Lots of good rides on the swells, and a few walks when downwind runs ended in the calm on the far side ....

Rigged the big stuff just because. Got an hour (10-11) out in about 12-14 knots. Cool to have the lake to yourself. Overpowered. Watched Patch go out around noon on the 5.2 (third straight day). Pretty soon he'll be down to a one board/sail quiver. Back on the water on my 5.2 and raced up to the island to play around upwind again. Back to the beach, stuff everything into the truck say goodbye and head for the ferry.

last day of my coast/gorge trip. sailed with BWD, Trev, winddoc, Rob D from Portland, C36 out too. worked on various moves and tricks like 360s, loops, helis.

was a good samaritan for a dude Frank who blew out a base. Rob D towed in his sail and I towed in his run-away board. when I was towing in his board I got on a full plane, then the board submarined and turned into a sea anchor. I got chucked and tweaked my shoulder a bit - ouch :x

Epic trip. sailed 7 of 8 days. 4 days on the oregon coa ... (more)

Slower start today. Didn't get on the water until 1300. First trip I've had to Nitinat where all I've sailed is a 5.2. Must have been nursing a hang over still because I was blowing jibes left, right, and center. Lost another island race to Gman. Had a great downwinder. Some good ramps and turns on the way back.

A very fun day! Started off really light on the 14M. The day continuously built and I moved to the 12M. Got half way around on my first spin. The only problem was it was not intended. At first I fought to turn back, then by 90 degrees decided to just let it happen. Landed with my back facing the wrong way. After (too late), I though I should have tried to make it all the way around. Trying some new stuff so I crashed a few times today. Good to see Stephen and Dave out there today! :D

Overall a bit lighter than yesterday but nice 5.6 wind most of the time and not nearly as holey either. When I launched at 4 pm it was very light on the inside but capping way out there. Igot out and stayed outside for an hour in very powered up conditions. When I went in for a rest it had filled in to the beach so I stayed inside till the end. Not epic but fun. :)

Fully powered up on the 6.0. I could have been on the 5.2 for an hour or more. I was making about 50% of my jibes by the end of the day on the other side and the odd one on the beach side. I am still not bringing the board around enough before throwing the sail around. I need to leave the sail powered up more and I am still coming way off the plain on the jibe. still, fantastic day! The skin is very very thin on my hands and blood came through in a couple of spots.

Best Gordon's sesh in a long time. Wind came up slow, rigged 7.5 but by the time I was on the water I was overpowered. Took two runs and rigged 5.8 kinda flat and it was just about right. Short tiring session on the inside, rested, and Don said it was creamy smooth on the outside past the voodoo chop - it was, big tide line full of junk marked the change. The current slowed and it flattened towards the beach. Made most jibes dry. Sailed planing clew-first for at least 10 secs on a swell face - first t ... (more)

:D :D :D The wind came up really early in the morning, and after wolfing down a quick stack of pancakes, it was on the water with the 6.0. After a few hours, it was time to switch to 5.0 (1 hr), and even with full downhaul/outhaul, it was easy planing. Spent a short time (0.5 hr) on my 93L Vivace with a 4.3 NS, and then back to the 5.0 for an hour, then the 6.0 for the remains of the day. I left the water with the wind still 6.0, but I had forgotten that food is something that we need from time to tim ... (more)

Raced up to the island and played around on the decent ramps upwind. Stopped at knob point to check out the scene (saw a picnic table from the water). Went upwind with Henk for an hour and a half of riding into the bay and over to Knob Point. Headed down to the campground at about 1, grabbed a granola bar and got back on the water with the Kombat and 6.2. Within an hour I am pretty overpowered so I switched to a 5.0 and the Kombat. Went to the Wall - it was 10-30kts so we headed to Rattlesnake Cove aka #9. Just me, Trev, Winddoc and Morewind on the water. It was strong at first so I rigged the 3.5. It worked for a while, then I cut my foot on some glass at the launch  . Fixed it up then went back out on the 4.0. Great swell, several backloop attempts and vulcans.

Slog...plane...slog...plane...did that for about a hour and then it filled in nice. That EVO is so sweet in the swell! Nice to be back to Gordon's...first time this year.

Really fun session despite the nasty chop and huge gusts. Mostly 18-23 knots but got rocked by a few 30 knot blasts. Wicked flat water speed jibes right at the beach. I love watching the looks on people's faces () when I come ripping in at them at Mach 10 and then lay into a jibe about 20 ft off the beach. They must be wondering if I'm going to run right up on the beach!

Went out to visit the cruise ship that was moored in the Straight. Pretty big boat.

The adrenalin is starting to slow down and ... (more)

Well, the JL report held out - arrived on scene at 2, and watched the wind line arrive onshore almost at 3 on the dot.

Second time on the board (booya!), but stayed up way longer this time.... Too bad the wind croaked; I spent almost as long cleaning seaweed off my lines and doing the walk of shame as I did OW.
