Worked on the weather station and webcam on Friday, then camped overnight waiting for the SE on Saturday. It was worth the wait. Good session with Mattdog, Bean and Winddoc. Mostly flat water with some swell on the outside. Vulcan attempts and flat water trickies.

Putting in more time on the light wind board. I have been missing the wind lately so this was a great session. I was fully lit and the gusts helped me gain speed to plane right up to the beach.

I used the free shower at the beach, which made me feel like I was at a day spa with all the modern conviences (paved parking lot, shower) and the warmth of the sun (compared to a month ago). Oh, forgot to mention that I had two beautiful female gear sherpas carring my equipment to the beach and back.

crazy crazy wild wind, all over the place today - but overall a good day on the water as always. No casualties :D packed in the bay though - most kites i've seen in there, very sketchy, but good fun!

fingers crossed for some more, still blowing right now actually.... sadly i'm spent for the day.

2 runs of sinking to the waist and an upwind walk. The only good thing was landing my kite on the beach from the beach. Unfortunately/fortunately I didn't have the time to wait for the wind to come in later. Basically I was skunked!

first ever surfboard session (thanks Grant!), and [b:6f3cc6e8dd]more importantly[/b:6f3cc6e8dd], my first ever successful gybes on a directional board! Not very windy, but [b:6f3cc6e8dd]perfectly [/b:6f3cc6e8dd]smooth and steady wind, loads of fun learning the surf thing :D , and just a few of us out there. According to Dave, who (no surprise here) was out for hours, it was the best wind of the day).

Report said 14 knots and I only had an hour so I thought I would only bring the Go150 and the 7.5m sail. Pulled up and met Bean who let me know it had just cranked up to 20 plus. Ran home, got the small board and sail and went out. Beauty day in the sun. Got home and ended up sailing with the fam around Gabriola, this place doesn't get any better.

Nice day at the beach - except the bay was almost empty, litterally

    - at first there was only enough water for two kites inside the boats, it was brutal, and even that was pushing it, but later it filled up to a more reasonable level. It kind of reminded me of kiting in a puddle!

Anyway, good day overall, nice weather, good to be on the water again.

I hadn't been to Columbia in a couple of years. Even took a wrong turn on the way there. I'll have to get there more often though. Sweet 4 hour session. Nice little shore break to play in and I didn't even have to look over my shoulder cause I was the only dude out there. Man that's a fun place.

    steep 2' ramps
    3.00 hours Naish Wave Hybrid 85 7'0"
First ride on the Naish Hybrid Wave 85. Weird but really fun! Loving the new fish style boards. Super easy to loop at only 7'. It practically autorotates!! Handled a 5.5 no problem. Boosts air nicely off even small ramps. Managed to sail away from two backs and a few forwards.

Really nice to sail with the crew again at Gordo's. Lots of spinning and jumping going on. Steph's no longer a Gordon's virgin and did great :) .

    3' swell, choppy later
    2.00 hours Starboard Fish 85 l. 7'8"
    Neil Pryde Zone 5.6 m.
    Sailworks Revolution 4.7 m.
Got off work early and almost went ot Cook St. but thought Gordo's was a better bet - looks like I made the right choice. Sailed the 4.7 for the first hour, mostly powered up, then went to the 5.6 when the wind came down a notch. The wind was best in the middle where the best swell was. :)
