totally stoked with my new kombat..it rules, sails smaller than it's 85 litres, comfy, fast, jumps well, turns almost as well as the evo, but is smoother and less bouncy, all in all a ripper of a day, could'nt stop smiling :P

Perfect 5.0 to start with fun ramps for loops. Wind picked up, ramps got sketchy and then the logs joined the session. Smacked a few sticks, watched mike and Jose get tossed savagely by some Kung Fu logs  . Rigged the 4.5, the swell cleaned up a bit and the sticks retreated. Fun session despite the sticksurfing.

Debris Day. Started out with comfortable 5.0 with head-on chop - Ideal loopin' conditions. Chris's loops were providing inspiration. Made a loop attempt shortly after getting on the water - not a great rotation, like maybe 2/3 and landed on the shoulder. On the way in hit submerged log/stick full tilt - board stopped, Morewind got chucked  bad crash, tweaked right wrist - ouch. No more loops. Ice 'n Advil evening.

Really gusty, short session. I like high tide here, didn't hit the fin this time :D Managed to miss all the logs and debris, but I only did a half dozen or so runs. Not even close to making a jibe, but otherwise felt pretty good  Seatrend is MUCH nicer than my bigger boards in the air after you hit big chop - actually felt controlled :P Got to get in better physical shape, exhausted each few runs/waterstart shenanigans!

Arrived at Columbia & it looked too windy for my 9m. Decided to borrow Mattdogs 7m. Upon returning the wind had died down a bit so when out on the 9m. Wind was fairly puffy but as to be expected in that wind strengh. But the swell was just amazing. Huge sets would roll in. Lots of smooth water in between. I love the daylight savings.

Pipers on a SE is no Columbia but I had a BLAST. 4.2 for a while, got lulled once too many times and upped it to 5.0 - perfectly powered. Nasty head-on beach break. Some waist-shoulder swell on the outside but waves came in all directions - that meant some killer launch ramps! Sailing alone so no loops but worked on table-tops - a couple of decent ones I think. Still can't gybe  .

Nice all day session. Wind came and went but was pretty solid for the most part. Lit up a few times on a flattened 4.8 and also slogging a few times as well. Some nice ramps but I can never seem to hit them with any speed at this beach. Lost my rig on one jump  Had a jibe breakthrough today. Something finally clicked and I was nailing some nice powered up jibes. Hope I remember what it was!

All in all a good session pour moi.

Wahoo, 1st good session with the Seatrend. :P Also 1st ever decent Willows sail. "New" Ezzy Wave 5.0 very nice: downhaul slipped, overpowered for awhile and struggling, Capt Ahab checked I was OK (thx), went in downhauled more and outhaul, then fun fun fun  Had to cut it short and go back to work. No jibes  but a couple close. Got to work on rolling the rig to outside before flip. Spun out quite a lot, probably too stiff legged with fear!

Overpowered the first time out on the 4.7m sail. It is time to buy a smaller board. I bought smaller sails but I also need a 400cm mast to rig the 4.2m sail. Columbia Beach is a great excuse for new gear! Anyone else concure? After an hour break I went out for another 2 runs (I tire easily). I enjoyed surfing accross the waves. Surfing and windsurfing put together are heaps of fun. Best time I have had yet!!

Spent first 2 hours getting suckered out in gusts on 89L board, practiced lots of sailing knee deep and body drags back. Ended up very long walk of shame from below the concrete outlet. Great when powered in the straps though! Switched to big board, at least it slogs, would have been perfect with 7.5, but OK on 5.8. First for spending much time in waves - did a couple of drops off the break and small turns on mushy white stuff, even that was fun! Tried to get out past bar underpowered a few times, made i ... Venturi Wave 4.0 m.
    Sailworks Revolution 4.7 m.
:D Another awsome cb day. Lots of big steep swells outside and rideable waves inshore. Demo'd Tim's Surf 70 most of the time and sailed the Fish at the beginning and end. Very powered up 4.0 wind most of the time.

Sailed the 4.2 for most of the time. The rides were sweet. 4 and 5 bottom turns (Mark style) on a lot of the waves. For BWD that is 4 and 5 bottom turns on one wave not 4 and 5 waves with one turn on each
