:D Great to be in the water after 4 days in northern Alberta. Some nice wavelets, and various gravel bar effects at the mouth of the Englishman River. Water is definitely warming up. We were out until 6:30 p.m. I usually get skunked at this spot as the NW passes through rather quickly. :P

Amazing day! First time at the spit & I was very impressed. Arrived at Comox & was very surprised to be the only one there are as it looked like perfect conditions to me. Wade showed up as I was rigging up & gave me a launch on the 12m. Mistake! It was way too windy for a 12m & did 1/2 hour of survival kiting. Got back to shore & rigged the 9m. Perfect size, even getting overpowered at times. Nice lofty jumps in the surging winds. Ate sh$t hard on a failled kiteloop. Attempted and landed ... (more)

Can't go wrong driving to parksville this season :D Another fantastic day. About an hour of sweet waves made the day memorable. Car pooled up with BWD - Dave scored a free donut "under the rim" at Timmys. Too bad you left the cup in my van 8) I drove extra carefully so BWD's new gear did not get jarred or stressed.

well the combo of bobsons mast, Kus' base and Morewinds boom seemed to do the trick. awesome 5.0 for me once i cranked the downhaul enough. nice 20min break between sessions. crashed 3 forward tries and most of my inside jibes too. outside i was too scared to fall in due to the humongous sea lions. BWD offered me some free sex and i said o yeah, turns out he was just selling his old board, was my face red!

:D Got there early to find it already windy- saved me a drive to Comox. The wind was coming in waves and dying down in between. Good 4.7 weather most of the time with some 4.0 blasts at times. Sunny much of the time and warm in the pm. Got choppy later in the afternoon as the tide got lower and lower. Spring is here - yahoo!

A sweeeeet day! Got to try my 2 new boards  The RRD is nice and slashy and feels great for a 90L board. Tried some backs and a few Vulcans on it. The wind picked up around 1pm and I got on the Evo70 just when the sand bar kicked up some waves. The Evo felt great and just loves to smack the lip. Tried lots of backs with it. Kind of sinky when the wind dies but it planes up easily. Fantastic day...must gamble on the 20-30 forecast more often...it's worth it. ooooeee

Funny thing, I was out on my small one, run out of juice 20 meters from a sea lion, drugging my butt back was kinda uncomfortable, you never know what those guys think of us ( food/not food/competitor/f#$%ble/not f#$%able you newer know ), Any way I got back safe and sound.

Feeling preaty rusty. Could have been a great day but I was not on my

'A' game. Quite windy, fairly puffy but beautiful swell at high tide. My stupid Dakine harness clip bent again so I had to pull the safety and swim in.

I had a scary experience while body dragging for my board. A sealion jumped out of the water a few feet in front of me.

Left junior with her grannie, dropped the bread-winner off at the office at 8:00 and was on the water at Columbia by 8:45 for one of the best sailing days I can remember. I was happy on the 5.0 for three hours and quit 'cause I was spent. Too many back loops to count, including a new experience - making it all the way around and looking down to see three feet of air still between board and water - emergencey eject  ! :? Wary of gusts along the beach I rigged my 9M. Bad move! Landed my kite just before a burst of 20 minutes ~ 2o knots came through..Richard owned the day on a 12M & directional..He caught the 20 minute burst just before getting squeezed onto Clover point in the big flood & cruised upwind showing some toe side directional style!

:D Holy macaroni dudes!!! Launched from Ross Bay at Noonish, wind was crazy....9.8 was a handful but used the 62cm fin so that was Okay. Did about 10-15 short runs out to end of Clover point and back. Fully OP'd most of the time. Front foot in front strap back foot across the board in leeward strap. Mostly survival hanging on stuff. Bad idea to just bring the formula gear down today. Had to leave to ref rugby at 1:30pm fun, fun, fun!!! Saw 'Morewind' rigging the 5.0 and had to laugh! HA! :D
