Great Day. 1st Session was hard work. Gusty winds, overpowered and a little rusty. 2nd Session was much better wind was still strong but more consistent. Floaty jumps & beautiful swell to be had. Wicked start to the 05 season. Note to self: Don't try and rescue a kite in a wind shadow.

Great day! The first session was nice 4.5 conditions with fun riding on the inside and lots of backloops. Trev and Bry were throwing some HUGE backs! Came in for a break disappointed that I hadn't tried any forwards. Second session was on the freestyle board and 5.0. Saw Mike come back out on the water with his game face on and was stoked to see him toss a nice forward! That set off the tone for the second session and I threw 8 forwards, learning tons in each attempt. Finally landed one upright. Just need ... (more)

A good long day. Tried lots of back loops but mostly lame attempts. Tried 3 forwards with only one having a hint of some rotation. It's a start I guess. Hats off to the super duper loopers Mike and Chris. Maybe some more tries tomorrow...

Nice 20-25 knot session at Columbia. Decent swells. A few mishaps incl busted Q line, death spiral. Then later my spreader bar coming out of the clip on one side (totally my fault) then getting launched and landing on my elbow in 8" of water, then losing my kite and spreader bar then recovering both of them. Alex got my kite but hindenberged his onto the beach. Thanks to Snapper I waded in the shore at dusk and unbeleivably found my spreader bar. An eventful day, might have overdone it a bit. Reinforces why ... (more)

    8) Best I-view day since Dec.3...Man that was last year.Highlight of the day was doing the 2 man kite luge with Gareth down the field behind his 14M! Yeh hah!! Gareth made a marginal wind look great whilst I merely watched my kite fall out of the sky..The huge puddles were great for rinsing the sand off the kite. Had a great 12 m session in the shore break! Note: always have someone anchoring you when the launch is as slick as a skating rink!

Biggish shorebreak and almost no wind meant no fun at first. Then wind came up a little and I got through break OK - but harness slipped. Asked 4 or 5 people, finally got help from someone with same Dakine harness buckles. Several trips into beach to fix, had no trouble with shorebreak  Then had a nice 1/2 hour of reasonably powered cruising in large chop/small swell. No planing jibes  a couple of stay dry, one near catapault. Only 12 km sailed max speed 32 km ph. Pelting rain, 8 degrees.

    First time snowkiting.

Quite underpowered but still fun to get out there. Need some kind of 5th line relaunch setup as relaunching nose down is a pain in snow. Wind was surprisingly steady for comming over land but the lulls would cause the kite to fall out of the air if it was on the edge of the wind window.

Great way to welcome in the new year, thanks Bobson/Rick/Pat others who helped on the beach. Kus' was great warming up in the hot tub, drinks, watching windsurfing videos. About 24 km sailed, 36 kmph max on old Adagio, tried Bobson's Hypersonic, made 44 kmph, flew upwind and down, overpowered for sail trim a couple of gusts, once on a plane it stays there through the lulls!! 1st run best, instantly fully powered in straps, "yee - ha, classic session" but then sailed into hole, from then on teasing wind - just enough to plane in gusts. Strong downwind current made for upwind slogs, then downwind planing runs. Warm 5 degrees, 37 kmph max speed 21 km sailed. Made a couple of descent tacks, grabbed the uphaul a few other times. No planing gybes. Helped Larry launch his kite for body drags brrrrrrrr.

Great cruise, sun, 8 degrees, Mt Baker awesome, could only plane pumping on broad reach at first, but a few runs in both straps made it worthwhile. Wind got better and better at end, barely fully powered a part of a few runs. Better at flare jibes and almost a couple of planing (needed more wind!) since Dasher DVD. Made a few schlog tacks. 34 kmph max, 19 km sailed.

Well Bobson, someone had to check, better than wonderin' if it was sailable all friggin' day! Figured faster way to rig 6.9, man that thing's BIG! I had forgotten. Some helitack attempts (made 1), shin deep tacks, kinda fun but no gybes trying to stay upwind, ahh, upbreeze. Needed a formula board though, if New Year's Day is like this that'll be a hit! 8)

:D Got to IV at 12:45, rigged up and on the water by 1pm. Sailed out to south end of James Island planing. Unbelieveably smooth and fast with the new gear. Harness lines were a bit short so arm got quite tired when I wasn't hooked in and was pumping!! Sail pulls solid and board planes up quick and the 70cm fin was nice to push against. Went for hour and a half and got tired very quickly pumping that big fella!! Need new footstraps from Santa!! Super smooth!! Can't wait for Nitnat or a longer cruise. Sorry J ... (more)

It started as a mellow, but pretty nice session. I had a couple of good jumps, unhooked, fully controlled, with good altitude, VERY nice landing, and then somebody hit the switch. Being on 75l board in no wind doesn't help, therefore I had a nice 30 min swim back.

All and all not bad. 30 min sailing + 30 min swimming = 1 hour of good exercise

God bless all those people who didn't call 911 :D

Wind was on and off. Sometimes from the west (not good) and sometimes from the South west (good). Windsurfing was okay, nice to be up and planing after two months. I am still putting together my winter wear.

Wreckless Rich and I had a good lunch on the beach after.

    Beautiful Sunny Day!

Windy was preaty dirty. Underpowered a lot of the time. Then waves of strong wind would come through. Good to see a bunch of guys down there. Make sure you have your spreader bar attached real tight! I had one side unhook then soon after the other side clip bent and my spreader bar completely detached. Luckly I was able to pull the safety. Got one leg hog tied on the swim in with 30 meters of line and spent 30 minutes untangling it off my leg.
