Weird flukey day. Nice 15 minute session, then the wind died. I stood around and went out with the next wind. That lasted all of 10 minutes of nicely powered-Then Wham! Next thing I'm being teabagged and dragged at terrifying speeds. I managed to release my safety(manual system) just before I hit the shore( I had to use my teeth as I couldn't get a proper grip with my gloves). It was a good wake up call as to why you might want to use a punch out system. If it had have happened closer to shore, the ending could have been very different and I would probably not be typing this. 36 knots was gotten from windepentant's wind guage on the beach. JL and(I forget his name, Ross??) had similar exsperiences today.
