WOW!! Super fun, flatwater RB session! Lots of pumpy-humpy but so peaceful and smooth. I think it was Phil Dunphy that said "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast". Well my friends, he was absolutely correct. Took the last hour off work and headed to RBFC in hopes of some foil-love. Well, it happened. Arrived at 3:30pm to 6-8kts per the wind meter at the end of the outfall. So I rigged the 7.0m Flyer 'session saver' and waited. Looked through the binocs and saw what I thought was just enough to get going. Finally, got that one right. It looked like there were 10kt gusty patches so decided to head out at 4pm even though Trial said 8-9kts. I put in to a pretty low tide with the waves close to the end of the outfall. So I chanced my hand and it paid off. schlogged out to the windline and BOOM, on the foil. I knew that getting on the foil (getting it up) was the hard part, I've had some practice at light wind gybes so felt comfortable bearing off, pumping to get some speed and then getting high on the foil then rip it around ensuring to not go too far around and then pump like a madman with my foot at the back of the board to continue to foil. Well, it worked!! WOOHOO!! It felt like it was getting lighter so I came in to reconsider and warm the hands. Then MarkA showed up and I looked back and there seemed like 10-11kts. It was barely that I'm guessing as it was 5-10 pumps to get going. Another 5 mins of trying to get farther upwind and saw Mr. Tweezy foiling towards me coming from Trial Is with a huge smile on his face. He basically foils in some well placed farts so that was probably why he was smiling. Another 10 mins and saw Mark A heading out and I was going to call it but as I got closer to the outfall there were some 10+ kts gusts so I turned and did another 2 runs out towards S end of Trial and back. Then decided it was getting darker and wind felt light so came in and derigged while Twizzlemania continued on doing his turny-turns. Well, as I was derigging my sail it picked up to 10-13kts but I was done and could almost smell the Corona's. So I stayed for another 10 mins taking video's on my phone of the Twazz-tastic one. Then I packed it all up and headed back to the homestead to quench my ravenous thirst. Yes, I broke and had a G+T first, call it a celebration station for my light wind love tonight.

    BOBSON OUT!!
