Blasting 30+ so borrowed a 25 year old soggy and salty roll of dacron tape from my dad to temp patch my 3.0. It held the ~10in incision from foil from a few weeks back. For one sessions anyways.
Was so awesome at first, the 3.0 Slick with that 890 BSC felt really controlled and balanced in what may have been nearer to 40 knots for a bit. Had mast a bit further forward as its been a bit too much back pressure since new rear foil. Couple hitches and way above Warrior Pt. Kept going out into the inlet and found some 3' waves and had a few short runs toward Chalet area. Thought it was going to be the best time ever but then it died, big rain cloud perched on the Malahat and stayed there for the duration, must have been a lot of rain in Goldstream. Slogged for a long time, few flights here and there. Saw a kite on shore during this time which was definitely disappointed. Morb? If not Morb, where ya been Morb? What are you, some kind of 'Fair Weather Sailor'?? Sheesh.
Blasted up again but rode that back into the bay and good thing as it swung back South and died again (other than 20 knot gusts in flat water).
4.0 would have been OPed when it really cranked but would have been the best size for today, if not a 5.0. Oh well! Nice to get some warm sessions in before the coming nasty cold.
