First, big shout out to the Doctor for pointing me to Ka'a. Day one there with big wing and big swell. This is THE spot to launch from and the swell....well. I think I am in learning paradise. It was a little wild and the swell made it a little hairy out there. Wind was much stronger. Worked on turns and backside to toeside switches with a few barely acceptable gybes. But I did get to drop the wing and surf some mountainous swell. I feel very grateful.
While no one likes a smug name-dropper, I just have to get it out. You know your in the right place when when Robbie Naish just pulls up next to you in the Ka'a Point dirt parking lot and starts gearing up. And Kai Barger is my next door neighbour in Haiku....
