Surprise!!! Forecast had 10-11kts which I would have been happy with but Surprise!! I finished my yard work chores at home and looked at my phone and saw 15-17kts at IV so headed straight there. Arrived to a chilly 15kts as far as the eye could see, low tide and a lot of wave action out in the current just past the sandbar. rigged up the 5.2 Flyer and my 'go-to' foil setup and headed down to the shoreline which was a ways away. ha! Schlogged to the sandbar and hit bottom so walked 20 feet and then took off. Headed out past the crazy wavy current and stayed at the S end of James Island the entire time as it was the flattest I could find. Never came off the foil for the entire hour and decided hand were cold, I was tired and I could hear a Corona calling my name. So came in and foiled over the sandbar this time and as I was walking my gear up the beach ULR and Rupp-Dogg were headed down. it was still 15kts ish and they both foiled out over the sandbar. nice work! As I was packing up I could see the huge wave action in the current had dropped and it was relatively flatter now. Arrived home to a 'cold one' in the fridge with my name on it and a tiny can of ginger ale beside it for a rye and gingy after my thirst quenching ICC.(iced cold corona). Well, that was a fantastic surprise session. Maybe #50 tomorrow.'
