Took an hour off work and hit CP because all I have is a fast foil so wanted some flat water as it's not the best set up for waves. Anyways, arrived to no one out but a lot of sun in my eyes at CP/Willows. 15-20kts with some holes but sunny and warm. headed out and it was very windy in the gusts. the 4.5m was well overpowered but it was doable in the holes with a bit of pumping to keep it up. Couldn't see the gusts coming as the sun was directly upwind. I'm pretty sure I saw 2 Wings out but they stayed up by MTI in the funnel between MTI and Willows. I tried getting up there but too many holes nearer to Willows, best wind was further offshore. Wind was solid right up until my last run, I should have come in 1 run sooner. Schlogged back to the boat launch as wind died pretty quick. Very warm! Other than the gustiness it was really good although I didn't go too far either way as I knew the wind was supposed to get lighter and it was offshore and didn't want a breakdown and paddle. 50+kms and 2 hours of happiness. I've got the next 3 days off and hoping for some wind!
