Arrived at 1pm and it was just coming in, 10-12kt on the beach and lots more upwind with big whitecaps visable. I pulled out the 6.0m and within 5 mins it was 10-14kts at the beach and dark water not too far away. I put the 6.0m away and pulled out the 5.2m Flyer and rigged it full. With the 800cm2 front wing it really needs some power and board speed to get going but once going it really glides quickly so once I'm up it's golden! Got out and the waves were getting bigger. Did some out and back and then went upwind and played on the waves going downwind. Surprised there wasn't anyone else coming out so called it as it felt like it was getting a bit lighter. The shorebreak was getting bigger when I came in and almost got washed out but managed to hold onto the gear as the wave went completely over my head. Then I quickly exited, 'stage left'. It was a quick session but seemed longer. Staying on the foil the whole time was pretty magical. As I was packing up a couple fella's that I didn't recognize were pumping up kites. I headed home for a Corona and some football. YES!! Probably no more after work sessions so looking forward to next weekend already.
