Decided to check out CP as the Willows webcam looked pretty average but lots of 8-10kts on the latest reports and I was bored and didn't want to have to put up anymore xmas lights. Arrived to 6-12kts with some sailboats out by Jemmy Jones that were healed over so decided to rig the 1000cm2 front foil and the 7.0m Sailworks Flyer (aka - Session Saver). Got out and had to schlog for 5 until a 10kt gust came along and foiled out past Jemmy Jones where there were some 10-12kts gusts coming through with caps out further but I didn't want to head out past 10 Mile Point in case it dies as there looked like a lot of tide going the wrong way. Just back and forth as there wasn't enough wind to really go anywhere else. Kept looking for gusts to gybe in as I would say the gusts were 10kts and the lulls were 6-8kts. Definitely happy with the fat 7.0m Flyer. I'm really looking forward to getting my new 1100cm2 front foil as it has so much more lift than the 1000cm2, just not as much glide. I think I've upgraded my pumping style now as I'm pushing hard down on the back of the board to get the nose out and then a huge pull on the sail and then push down with my front foot to get the forward momentum then down on the back again to get the nose of the board and the foil going up with another sail pull. I think this technique is helping getting foiling quicker and enabling me to get foiling with less ppm (pumps per minute). Anyways, after an hour and 20kms decided it was getting lighter so rode the next gust right into the boat launch. WooHoo!!! I think I even got a tan on my face, wrists and ankles today. Good Times!!
