Arrived to 6-8kts and 5 Doods sitting on edge of Goat Hill talking about painting Matt's bike, I think. Not quite sure. Shagalicious, BeeDub, BikerMatt, Leddy and a special guest appearance by Gustastic and his new haircut, looking SWEET!! It 'ramped up' to maybe 10kts so I rigged the WING, yes, I Winged today baby and it was amazing!! headed out in 10-12kts and practiced staying upwind and riding toeside. 10 mins in and there were some 12-13kts gusts and I was able to foil on the way in riding a wave to get some speed and pumping a lot!! then it died down for a bit and I schlogged for awhile then it picked up to 12-15kts for 30 mins so I got lots of foiling in and one gybe I got around on the foil and touched down quickly and pumped and got right back on the foil after planning through the gybe. Pretty proud of myself!!!! Stayed dry on all gybes except my last one which I tried to rip around quickly but wiped out so decided to call it as wind seemed to be getting lighter again and I had chores to do at home. Such a fun session, so many WooHoo's coming from me. I got my longest foiling run maybe 2-3 mins coming in riding waves and finally figured out why everyone is Winging. It was pretty fun riding the waves and trying to depowering the Wing, it felt pretty cool. I think on my Wing sessions I've either had not enough wind or too much wind but today was an eye opener and game changer for me. Great conditions for me today. I'm amazed that the Big board with the Windfoil foil setup is working pretty good. I added an extra degree of shim for more lift so I didn't have to stand so far back on the board like I when I Windfoil. Cannot wait to get back out there and get some more Winging in. Huge smile on my face today for almost the whole session.
