Arrived at 12:15pm to get my 'rockstar' parking. Dr. Marky-Mark and the funky bunch were there too. Looked like some peeps (Jumping Steve and T&T) were rigging up down the backroads. It looked windy 15+ but gusty so I rigged smaller, 4.5m Sailworks Flyer. Not much wind in the bay but 15kts outside. The first 20 mins was touch and go as there were some holes but after a bit it filled in and Wings started appearing everywhere. I put in an hour and then called it to go home and watch the Canucks and finish my taxes. I'm heading to Nitinat this weekend so didn't want to wear myself out. haha!! Tide was quite low so had to wade in a ways to clear the foil. As I finished and derigged it looked like a Wing convention. Goat Hill was full and there were Wings and Foil boards all the way down the beach. I counted 21 boards just before I left. I also found a case of Corona under my Man-Van while I was packing up so figured pulling the plug early was the right move. (Thanks Mtnarg!)
BOOM!!! We have another female WingFoiler in our midst. Cendrine Slaker was out Foiling on Sunday!! WooHoo!! Except I missed her and her other half who were both headed out as I was packing up and heading home to watch The 'Nucks and rehydrate with a couple of ice cold Corona's. Maybe we foil together at the lake. I hear she was a RockStar and she and her man should probably be added to The RBFC newsletter.
BOBSON OUT!!
