Fickle and deceivingly light winds, combined with choppy conditions made for a bit of a frustrating session. I decided that I'm ready to graduate from my HS1850 to my MA1475, the latter having BWD provenance for good luck. This was my first time on it. With the light winds I struggled to get on foil, so after an hour slogging with my 5.5m I switched to my 7m. I then got on foil a few times but things were feeling a bit off. All was not lost though: huge thanks to WindDoc, who tested out my board and came back with very helpful suggestions. #1 was to move my dang mast forward in the tracks!! Post session debrief with WindDoc, GregCan, Gus, Tweezer, Windjunky, and Danno brightened the day. Also a huge male California sea lion kept surfacing around for the second half of my session, which was a great motivator to not wipe out. His barks sounded like laughter at my amateur pumping technique.
