Missed the morning 10 knots due to early chores and chats but Richard got out to do some light wind testing on his downwind hand kite setup. Good on him!!. We talked a bit about coaching & Olympic sailing stuff we are both familiar with. Its neat what he's done in past lives coaching for BC Sailing.
Got out at 2:30pm but had to return to retape a small hole in my deck. While the winds got slowly lighter it was steadier than normal and oddly most reliable near the shore and rocks at the north end of the Pipers Park Did a slow upwinder (while dodging 3 or so south bound Orcas) to Morningside Park in Hammond Bay to be a beach bum. Then returned downwind in 4 knots. Its so nice to sail harnessless, wetsuitless but ugh I still wore my lifejacket!!
Oh how I love finding kids beach toys floating offshore and returning them to the hands of eager or unexpecting kids. I guess I am a defacto toy saver here.
