Last day and the lake favoured me by coming up windy early so I could get back home mid-afternoon. Dave C and I scampered like kids to be the first on the water getting out there by 9:30 AM. The fog bank was still there and the tree shadows were still on the beach but it was white-capping way down the lake. Sarah launched Dave and waited patiently while I put on my helmet, my glasses, my earplugs, my sunscreen and my lip gloss. Feeling like a princess, I got my launch from Sarah and headed out to somewhat janky wind. Definitely gusty and hole-y but still pretty good. There was considerable wind swell already which made for some good smashing. I have been focused on tacks all trip and did the same today but I had rather poor success initially. It got better after a while and I very much enjoyed such an early morning session; the sun finally started to light the beach as I came in. What a wonderful 4 days at the lake! Grateful for the invitation from Dave and Sarah to stay at their camp site and to the Ditidaht People to be on their land.
