Got out too late at 5:15pm. 4 Wingers had fun earlier in the afternoon & most were ashore (Dan, Fraser & Joseph). 5pm wind at Entrance was 20 knots but had shifted westward throwing a big wind shadow on the lagoon area.
Result was 20 minutes of sailing, 10 Minutes of floundering and finally being becalmed, 30 minutes of paddling to shore with rig in tow tied to transom. First time I can remember paddling a shortboard ashore at the Pipers launch. 2 Wingers also had to paddle ashore from much further offshore.
At 4pm Wheatcroft Pk and sail time in Hammond bay looked feasible. And perhaps would
