    Didn't have work off till 10am so missed the peak wind and waves me thinks. Arrived to a bunch of schloggers in a lull, so waited and chatted a bit with Mike up on the road and then some of the looky loos down at the launch. Looked like it was going to pick up and fill in for a 4m so rigged up and got at it. First session approximately 20min shit show for me, underpowered, shifty, gusty, weird washing machine waves and current throwing me off, just couldn't get comfy! Came in as it was tanking again, so chatted with the early crew and again it looked like it was back for round 2. Much better second outing, more consistent wind, waves cleaned up a bit and there was still some really large swells coming through. Had some big back splats getting used to the next level swell size and different direction that is SE Clover in Winter mode. Wind began to be iffy right around 2pm just as the model had predicted so packed it in. Condolences to ThePope's wing, it seems we always like to make a sacrifice to the shore pound gods at this spot in a big SE, we've all had a good tumble in the shore break at some point here. It can be nasty!!!
