The forecast looked good with the trade winds returning, but it was a bust. One hour of slogging with a teeny bit of foiling before sunset. Lots of foilers at the beach ready and rigged, so at least there were lots of people to commiserate with. One thing I find interesting here is that half the foilers wear high viz clothing, which not only makes sense from a safety standpoint but also makes it so much easier to see and identify people on the water. Bobson berates us for not doing the same thing, and I'm starting to think that he's on to something ;) Even someone with my pallid gingerly complexion could pull off a neon pink, right? RIGHT? This loosely ties in to Step 4 of 'the program', which is to always check your blindspot before you gybe. Sounds like more of a safety tip than a technique, but hey I didn't design this 12-step program.
