:D :D :D Nitinat in FEBRUARY!!!! 8) . Road like it was paved, 45 min each way from Youbou. Camp road is muddy (4X4) in spots, picnic tables in odd spots, driftwood made beach access awkward. Thermal had just started at 12, but was light, just capping. BY the time we rigged and ate lunch it was do-able, pumped to a plane. Silky smooth wind, what a treat. Picked up gradually, added a little outhaul, not enough power for more than min. downhaul, but fully powered for about 1/2 hour pretty good for another 1 hour. Slogged near the end, but still planed up most runs. One fully planing step jibe :D a couple more very close, only fell in about 4 times (water cold!). 40 km sailed, max speed 39 km close reaching (could have been faster downwind). Great driving conversation with Bobson, the drive seemed like nothing, the dog had the run of the beach, a flipping fantastic (oops, better leave those for Bobson), a great day!
