Awoke to a giant FOGBANK :shock: Whitecaps started at about 9:30 and just kept on coming. My wife took the first session and was blown off the water by about 11:00.
I went out with my 6.8 and small slalom board to see if I might be able to hold it down for the afternoon races. I had 2 scary overpowered trips across the lake and decided I'd better rig down. I grabbed the 5.4 which was good for about an hour and then it was just nuts.
I came in to rig something smaller and actually considered the 4.0 but figured it wouldn't stay up forever so I rigged the 4.8 and switched to my JP. The slalom board was just too bloody fast. Had a great afternoon ripping jibes, fast tacks, jumps and a few good knarly wipeouts too :?
The wind mellowed around dinner and I decided to give Bobson's GPS a try. I grabbed my 6.8 and small slalom board again and took it for a rip. I managed to get it up to 52.3kp/h in about 15-18 knots of wind. Not bad for a $50 waterlogged antique! Would have been neat to try it a few hours earlier :shock:
On my last run of the day, as I was slogging back to the beach, I was hit by a rogue piece of chop which sent me and my boom into the nose of my board. It was the most pathetic wipeout I've ever had. It totally crunched the nose but luckily I was in knee deep water and was able to keep it dry.
Woke up Sunday morning not able to walk. Seems I injured my toe or foot at some point during the insanity. I'm hobbling around like an old man. Got a flat on the way home too. Looks like I have a few things to fix this week!
