I arrived at Rowena around 11:00. There were a few vans up on the hill, rigged, but no one out yet. I was a little nervous to be the first on the water so I rigged a 5.2 and made some other adjustments. Around 11:30 the first wind dummy was on the water with me close behind. I sailed lit up on the Carve80/5.2 for over and hour and then the wind kicked up a notch. There were maybe 4 of us on the water.
I came in and rigged the new 4.7. Ripped it up for another hour before being scared for my life.
I sailed for another 3 hours on a 4.2 with the last hour being totally over powered. If I had a 3.7 I would have been on it. Most people were blown off the water. It was crazy. I took a breather for about an hour and a half hoping it would come down. It started to come off a bit, so I went out for one last session. I took 5 rips and my arms were ready to fall off. I decided to pack it in before I did any damage. Had some sweet jumps. All most impossible not to in those conditions. Still can’t manage to drop the death grip on the boom for a sweet one hander though.
