We drove to Nitinat via the Port Alberni route on Tuesday. The first 15 km of the gavel part is brutal. A lot of exposed rock made for a rough drive. Most of the hills are washboard. We came back on the North Cow road and it was very good. From now on it’s via Youbou for me.

Hey JL,

So no Mt Baker pass next year. Dang! They are offering next year's passes to us existing passholders at 30% off if no snow base by mid Dec.
This last year was f'ed up there.

Interesting JL. I hadn't heard of "gravity waves" before. I found a NASA photo of gravity waves here:

It seems to me that windsurfing and kiteboarding represent a "culture". bigwavedave.ca has created a "community*". A key aspect of the culture for a ...

takes about 1/2 hr longer on gravel, a bit confusing to find the entrance and don't miss turnoff to Nat/Franklin, if you go straight you WILL go to Bamfield....usually a bit rougher and more traffic than Lk Cow routes

We traveled it on Saturday. It's really only a bit rough on the hill going up ...

The trick is not so much making a decision based on what it *is* as much as what it might be! Planning 2-5 days ahead is the challenge.

The real temperature and the one in the Sunday forecast were not close. Yesterday (Tuesday) PA was at about 20C rather than the forecast 25-28C. I haven't seen ...
