Kiteboarding Survey-Bog Air...Bad Landing!

Post by Kevin »

Thanks a lot to the people who have filled in the questionnaire so far. Your support is certainly appreciated.

For those who have not participated yet… you can enter the study at:

http://www.stats-consult.com/survey-signup.html

You can enter it even if this is your first day kiting or you are highly experienced, never suffered an injury or have several you want to talk about. You can also re-enter it if you have another kiteboarding episode you want to include in the data.

My primary goal is to try to dispel some the myths about our sport, identify how we can improve the safety of kiteboarding by recognizing where injuries occur and how the risks to us can be minimized, and finally work to improve the image of kiteboarding as a safe and enjoyable recreational activity to us and other beach users.

However before undertaking the questionnaire, if you would like to verify the legitimacy of this academic project, I would encourage you to follow up with the following contacts. I suggest this so that no one will accuse me of fraudulent activities, being a spam artist etc and then set up threads that may ruin a couple of years of my work!

Please check in with…
http://www.fksa.org/ for some discussion points developed by Rick Iossi (Moderator)
Oahu Kiteboarding Association forum discussion
( http://www.kiteoahu.com/) (be sure to follow the threads through)
www.rmuohp.edu (my Uni’s website in the US) call them if you would like to verify I am who I say I am!
Institutional Review Board contacts are also provided on Consent Form at the end of the form (you can read this first without entering any information).

Thanks again for your support especially to the crews out in New Zealand, Australia, SA,Florida, Hawaii and the UK!

Aloha Kevin
