What windsurfing really requires...?
You forgot to list:
**Diet: Lotsa oysters, sushi, mexican and thai food
**Flexibility (or NEVER firmly plan anything! in particular family events or holidays) to adapt to disappointing forecasts/unforeseen high winds
**Make hay when the wind doesn't blow (work when it doesn't happen as if you are putting in extra time "cuz this project really needs to get done, boss-wife-client") and be at the beach when it DOES happen ("wow, since I have so much Overtime stored up/been devoted to you and done all the chores/have been reviewing your files endlessly- I better take some time on this rainy and rather nasty afternoon so I can be back working on this project/chore/file tomorrow")
**swoop in when some guy who has lots of coin and bought all new gear last year finally gets rid of his pristine stuff for next to nothing cuz he is going to kite/quit altogether/accepts failure as an everyday thing
**Use all the toys/tools to be on-the-spot- BWD web latest, cell reports, forecasts, buddy calls, hunches, local knowledge
**Have an excellent extended health plan to pay for massage, rehab, physio, drugs when you have once again wrecked your weekend warrior body by doing something "totally new and cool" or by staying out for hours too long
Yup a working hip is a good thing

Wind addiction & a desire to wear neoprene as well as a need to be 'smacked' by cold water WIND ADDICTION: The inability to focus on anything but tree tops, clouds & water texture etc. with an inability to commit to ANY function ( work, family, travel etc. ) with the knowledge that if YOU miss a session you will never get that particular opportunity back. A desire to be online & monitoring BWD every freekin' moment . & that's only when your awake !!!

Thermals are good.
The ability to manage all the components on all the lists for years with only micro improvements in ability to "reward" us through all the equipment change$, equipment destruction, relationship struggles, walks of shame, injuries, travel, no wind, and too much wind . Good thing we have each other and a website where we can be all be ok
