Spots in Maui
Currently in Oahu and looking to head to Maui next weekend. Can anyone recommend some good intermediate windsurfing spots and places to stay near by.

Best place to learn is Kanaha Beach park ( go through the rental car zone behind the airport and turn right along the beach road and go to the last parking lot and rigging area) You can touch the bottom almost out to the wave break. Good sandy conditions. You should be able to find some cheap accomodations in Paia or above it in Haiku otherwise I like to stay on the other side in Kihei ( lots of condos and great beachs 20 min drive back to other side to windsurf)

Stay in Haiku if you want something quiet, try Pu'Koa rentals, google it and you will find their info. Others who frequent this website also stay there. It's nice, clean and quaint, 15 mins to town for $80ish a night.
If you want more of a resort style stay, then Wailea/Kehei are nice but you'll want the AC on at night. Word of advice, book your stay using Priceline.com and use the bid your price feature. Pick a price close to $100 and you should get hooked up nicely. We got our 3 nights at the Best Western resort on the beach in south Kehei for $80/night and there was a rate sheet in our room that said that time of year rooms went for $169-$200. William Shatner does not lie.
