Osoyoos

Post by BigD »

Going to Osoyoos on Thursday night. Last time I was there it blew 25 knots and knocked branches off trees all throught the campground one afternoon. Was this a fluke or should I bring my gear this weekend?

I'd take you gear unless you know you can rent decent stuff. It would hurt to be there with that hot wind and warm water and be stuck. My first ever time on a windsurfer was on Osooyos Lake, tie-on teak booms (those hurt!) in ca 1979. Newly bought board from Elk Lake Sports. It blew wayyyy too hard to learn anything. Prob. 15 kt. Sailed it several times later, overpowered on the old WS 1D. But it has been consistently windy there, I've only seen it flat a few times (mind you this is summer....). Anyone know if the wind here is a branch of the Columbia Gorge wind?
