Annual New Year's Day Sail/Kite Together Celebration

This is our fourth or fifth year of doing this and I thought I'd put out a request to see who is interested in participating :D
The location is flexible and we usually go to where the best possible sailing potential will be. This has either been Willow's Beach or Island View Beach. We've had a few 35 knot days and a few SUP type days and always had a good time with lots of comradery, food and play.
I would even consider CB this year if the sailing looks better there for Jan.1st.
Let's see what we can organize as a group :lol:

New years day and an early drive to CB? Maybe you aren't planning on enough fun new years eve eh Jelly? :-P

you are obviously insufficiently addicted, Nanmoo. I'm in but I like the idea of staying local, family points triple over the holidays :idea: I'll sail the frigate or we can have windglider races with my two rigs if there is next to no wind...these things are a blast and anyone can do it, Non-WSing kiters included.

Looking forward to the what must be 5th New Years Sail/KiteTogether :twisted: :twisted: I will bring brown pops, hot dogs/buns and ice cream. Maybe someone can tackle the chilli, BBQ or dry firewood (if at IV), chips etc. GETTING STOKED! :twisted: 8)

I recall a couple of times when CB got skunked and IV was decent, like Kus with family staying close is my preference for NY day. I want to do a CB overnighter soon though. Gotta get more use from that 4.0, I love that sail....

US forecast for now says [New Years Day system] "ALTHOUGH STRONGER THAN THE PREVIOUS FRONTS THAT WILL AFFECT THE AREA...IT IS NOT STRONG OVERALL. SO PERIODS OF RAIN AND NORMAL WINTER BREEZES. "

So a nice 20-25 knots is on order!

The model is currently teasing me with a SE for CB on Friday. IV, rumor has it, is the site of the polar bear swim this year. That would mean ...no parking and loads of people with hypothermia :shock:
Have to wait and see what the wind does but I will be ready with chili, hot apple cider, and something sweet to share.
Get those WindGliders ready .... might need to rig em small :lol:

hmm, well, seems not a lot of stoke by others thus far, too bad :? With Polar bear possibility at IV I will likely head to Klover if it's on in any way :arrow: Happy New Year anyway :idea: to good health, sun & wind near untamed bodies of water
