There has been a fire ban the last couple weeks at Nihtnat and since the authorities care more about fire prevention than kiting/windsurfing I don't see that changing for windfest.

What's funny is that when I was in Hood River over the last weekend, where it is essentially a desert waiting to go up in flames, campfires were permitted at the state campgrounds, hell they even sold you the bushel of wood! I have to admit I was totally surprised.
