Man I am learning a lot. I haven't actually ever done this (no collar on an extension), just thought it would save another 1- 2 cm from being cut off - if I did cut it. So now the cut would have to be approx. 15cm off of 430 instead of 13cm.

Maybe it's just easier if someone buys it as a 426! - Check the Buy Sell section.
Yeah just sell it & get a Gaastra mast - if possible. The Gaastra bend is totally opposite from the Hotsails bend & it would not work very well IMHO.

I just happen to have two Gaastra RDM's (100 & 75%, with bags) for sale, pm me if interested. I have found the Gaastra masts actually quite good in terms of compatibility, they work quite well on my KA's and not bad on the older Sailworks I had. Too stiff for Ezzy's tho it seemed.

Yeah IMHO they will be really bad on sails designed for flexier tops such as Pryde, Hot, maybe Goya, Ezzy, Simmer, North.

But should work on Gaastra(obviously), Vandal, Mauisails, Naish maybe Severne..... sound like KA too.
