CJ, tks for the laugh!!!

Raven, please stop your ranting against W/S!!!

Got my propane tank stolen during windfest 2010 or 2009 (I supplied a "cheesy fake fire thing" because there was a fireban, notice the following morning that the tank got stolen) Did I came here and post: I can only assume that a "kiteboarder" stole my propane tank because there was only kiteboarders at the event? Please remind your kiteboarder friends that stealing is not cool.

I am 99.999% sure that the W/S who moved your board (if its a W/S) did it in order to prevent further damage from it being in the way of either their launching spot or from the tide. Why don't you keep your SUP board in the "kiteboarding area" since you seem to have a huge "hard on" for kiteboarders and a huge "hate on" for W/S ??? No, I am not trying to "belittle your post", just pointing out the facts after reading your last 2 post. If every time a windsurfer would post in this forum when a kiteboarder screw up, this forum would be flooded by post like these:

- Please remind your kiteboarder friends not to cook FISH in the sauna. During my 3 weeks stay @ Nitinaht Lake a kiteboarder cook Fish in the Sauna. Since when we cook fish in the Sauna ????

- Please remind your kiteboarder friends to be a little more respectful regarding noise @ 2-3 am, you can still party your ass off but no need to keep your music/yelling that loud. During my 3 weeks stay @ the nat, I have notice a bunch of kiteboarders partying quite hard until 3 am without much respect for people/familly/kids sleeping.

- Please remind you kiteboarder friends not to jump near shore were kids, family and other water users (W/S Kiteboarder) are hanging out or trying to launch/get on the water. People could get injured. I have often witness this during my stay. I could only assume that this was a kiteboarder because he was flying a kite and riding a board.

- Please remind your kiteboarder friends not to land their kites on W/S mast, during my 3 weeks stay I have seen this happening at least 3-4 times ...

- Please remind you kiteboarder friends not to crash their kites in a power plant, because putting Salt Spring Island out of electricity for a good 24 hours is not cool at all.

- Please remind your kiteboarder friends not to jump and land on or within 5-10m from a W/S, the "close call" are not super fun either. I have seen this happening at least 4 to 5 times everyday during my 3 weeks stay @ nitinaht lake.

- Please remind your kiteboarding friends not sound a horn repeatedly between 6 to 8 am in order to take their revenge on their kiteboarding friends from OR that partied the night before until 3 am. To top it all, these friends from OR were so wasted that they the horn didnt wake them up/bother them. Resulting in "double punishing" people around, kiteboarder/windsurfer alike. It happened once during my 3 weeks stay in 2009.

- Please remind your kiteboarder friends to slow down near the campsite area, I have seen 3 or 4 kiteboarder driving fast at least 2-3 times a day during my 3 weeks stay, kids are playing in the area...

I can keep going on, and on and on and on ... And unfortunately, as a kiteboarder, have been guilty of more than a few of them throughout the years.

Are the W/S posting these incident ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? No.

Kus, I am not sure why you apologise to this W/S hater. It got to be someone with erectile problem passing his frustration on W/S, there is no other possible explanation.

Please everyone, be careful when you go to Nitinaht Lake, there is a windsurfer going around the shore, displacing people gear. The RCMP did put a trap/cage on Wednesday, 28th August, hopefully they ll catch him during before the long weekend. Please contact 250-745-3524 for any sighting/information. $500 reward for any information leading to his arrest

Teabag,

Give me a break. I explained why I assume it was wind surfer. I am far from a wind surfer hater. All my friends are wind surfers. I am not pro kiter or wind surfer.

It is a romantic idea that someone was moving my gear to help me and to avoid it from being taken with the tide; however, I am smart enough to put my gear far enough up the beach so that this is not a relevant concern.

You can challenge me all day long on this if you like, but the purpose of this post was to remind people to leave other people's property alone. Period. End of story.

No more, no less.

The upside of this circular conversation is Raven's incredible grammatically correct command of the English language.

Thinking

Post by GWIND »

After long deliberation I believe it was the Beer drinking bear that has caused all this torment for the raven. I am quite certain I saw him paddle surfing the inflatable craft late one night, did not want to say anything till now, yup that's it all right.
Native lore and all there could be a deeper story here.
To be continued next year....

I just spoke with the conservation officer.
The trap set out last nite has caught what appears to be a "windsurfer".
apparently the inflatable SUP that they dangled inside the cage was enough
to entice the varmint...so they think they caught the culprit.
plans are to release him at san pareil in his natural environment and hope that he doesn't find his way back to nitnat.

Dear Dude who kept moving my SUP off of the beach...

Post by reefshark »

Raven,

I saw you moving your inflatable SUP back to the very crowded grass area next to the water in the windsurfing area, so your cover is blown. You are the "Slow Kids Playing sign and traffic cone" lady, right?

First, thanks for making an effort to slow the idiots who endanger children and pets by tearing through the campsite at 30 km/hr creating behind them a dust storm worthy of the Sahara.

Second, while I agree that "hands off other people's gear" is usually the best policy, do you not realize that leaving your precious black whale sitting all day on the grass right by the water is highly inconsiderate of sailors coming off the water who are trying to use the area?

This is the larger issue raised by your post. I have often seen boards and rigs sitting unmoved right by the water for days at a time.

Please, everyone, store your unused gear away from the water or in your campsite!

PS: Contrary to speculation by Kus, you are clearly not an English major, Raven - the possessive pronoun is spelled "its", not "it's".
