I'd love to drive down with you and jam all the way with your new amp. I have to wait for Dec unfortunately. I'm going to semi-camperize my new wheels as well. So on that note I'm also looking for caravaners for early Dec. I think we have 2 or 3 vehicles now with some pick-ups in Hood river.

Sorry, Leaving Tomorrow Monday.
Stopping in Hood River. Maybe stopping for a extra night outside LA. Then stop in in San Diego a night or 2. Probably crossing at the Tecate border around 8th or 9th.
If anyone wants to convoy the Mexican part...?
Please let me know!

Any safe places to stay overnight in Baja? And where were the pemex stations that have "screwed" some people? I cannot find the post anymore....

Planning the trip ahead so I have an idea... Thank you everyone for your imput and advices. See you down there!

Hey Lily you won't get screwed at the pump since your first language is Spanish. You are not the typical Ginga. If your are worried then just watch them zero it before they pump it. There is one place you want to have your tank filled to the overflow point, before the long desolate stretch before Catavina on the way to Guerro Negro. Fill up at El Rosario. You can find motels with walls around the parking lot so your car and gear is fairly safe and it will be 250 pesos/night. Try to haggle them a bit, and you have some charm you can turn on I'm sure. You can also drive into the desert and camp but if you are alone then you are taking a risk, but kitesurfers do take risks. I have not camped alone in the desert. I was out in the desert and beautiful boulder fields west of Catavina once with another person. The sky lit up at 3 am and we freaked out and left thinking it was a UFO. Buenna suerte!

...if you are going to put a few days in around the US of A then why not meet Bill before the Tiajuana border crossing in San Diego?? :?

one day maybe someone will combine all this info into one post without people making useless comments in between and others can use it as a daily guide to get to the Baja with fuel, their appropriate papers, going the best route at the right time, without getting screwed or fleeced or held up or worse.....I dream, yep

Kus why were you on a 3.4? I never thought I'd see that...
