Maybe you Tofino SUP competitors may want to bring a sail and stay an extra day.

Monday Wind southeast 35 to 45 knots becoming northwest 40 to 50 late in the day. (yes KNOTS)

nope, a bridge too far for me right now to get to tofino in next while. Plus I am little leery of SE calls up there at the best of times, but most certainly when it's 40plus! I hope someone chases that glory, whether with a pole or strings, it matters not.

Well I finally got to see a stormy SE out in Tofino this morning. Lennard Island was reading 31-38kn. Right where N.Chestermans connects to Frank Island is definitely the most steady and windy spot. Too bad its pretty much completely offshore. I found moving down the beach to more sideshore action to be extremely holey and gusty with wind not necessary blowing horizontal but coming down with a diagonal punch. Twice as I walked my gear up the beach the wind pushed down on the sail making it tough to get any lift in it for ease of carrying. I would take SSE over SE for N.Chestermans. Im sure the right gear would help tons too. Maybe a side off wave board with extra float. SC looked doable for anyone that likes onshore wind/waves.

Look like the rest of the island got a little SE action too :P

Pretty much what I experienced there some time ago, maybe late 80`s if I recall. Alone as well. Lots of wind for maybe 200-300 m along the beach north of Frank Island, then bang no wind at all or weird wind in the windshadow of the forest. And yes, I would guess SSE better direction.
But probably does not occur that often or only briefly occurs during the frontal shift to SW or West?

The dvd looks cool. I want to order one. Maybe we can pass it around at a toonie a view and donate the excess over cost to the bwd website.?

I'll be buying this, if no one buys wind vids they'll eventually just stop making them.

Ordered mine. I agree with Nanmoo about supporting the industry. There are other ways to fund the site - like everyone just give a Toonie....
