Wow. Oregon has so much to be attractive to be attractive. 3 dollar descent wines($5 Can) and a drive through for weed. So useful after getting worked over all day AND convenient to the dairy Queen. Wish I could come but I committed to a 20 day kayak around the hakai central coast area that conflicts.

Okay! I finally got to plan my vacation, and I'm looking at going down for 8-10 days between Jun 10 -24. (Have to be back for my son's graduation on the 25th!) A third option would be June 26-July3...

The AWT tour is in Pistol June 8-12. Would be fun to watch! But I'm wondering if it's cool to sail there if the event is on? Or is it going to be really busy on the water and I would just be in the way - flailing in the wash machine  :?:

The event is at Pistol and you'll want to be sailing the Cape if possible. So no conflict. There's also a huge up and downwind area if you have to sail there.

Your early dates will probably end up with better wind but the last few years everyone seems to be pushing to the end of June, start of July.

Hiyo,

No problem to sail Pistol during the AWT, but you would have to be further down the beach, away from the comp zone. If the Cape is firing, you'll want to be there anyway, but there is a chance of the comp being moved there at a moment's notice if they are wanting to run the Pros in good conditions. you should consider entering the comp; it's a ton of fun and the amateur level is a good cross section of talent. I would love to compete each year, but the annual BWD wave camp is one of my year's highlights and trumps any glory the AWT can offer😜. The hang with the BWD brus and bru-ettes is priceless and way more relaxing. Wish I could do both! I'd be down to move the wave camp closer to the heels of the comp if others were keen. My little girl's bday is on the 4th of July, so the 3rd is my end date at the latest.

Man, you guys are not making my decision easy. I was planning on the comp, which I've done before and was a blast, but all the photos, and testimonials, from you, I'm think I'm trying my luck at the BWD camp again.

Hmm, so 3rd option (June 26-July3) would coincide with the camp = more fun, eh!? \:D/

It used to be that the Camp coincided with the contest and those were good times. Best of both worlds. Shred then watch shredders shred. Too bad cheese moobs ruined it.

For a couple years I only did the contests and mostly missed the camp which was still a lot of fun but in a different way. A couple no wind contest years reverted me back to the camp last year. The camp years I eat more Dairy Queen, contest years it's more booze. Kind of a toss up.

Jetty chicks are in season from May to August.
