For anyone buying a used sprinter, the forum sprinter-source.com has some great threads. Someone recently saved their $14K US when people pointed out what to look for and it turned out to be a heavily disguised lemon.

you can get the HD black truck liner sprayed in for a couple if hundred, do it yourself even cheaper, Lordco sells it in cans

Ok, weather getting warm, getting close to van buying time.

Sprinters nice but spending $60,000 or more on new isn't, and a decent used one seem to be tough to find. And not sure of Sprinters for skiing trips.

Was just in Maui and we had a large Ford 350 basic van. Held lots of SUPs and windsurfers.

What about the large size GM or Chevy vans? Is the 155 long version?

Also look at a gas Ford Transit. Nicer finish, just as much room, but $13k cheaper than the diesel Transit or Sprinter.

Well there is two of you ....with a shit load of gear ....and you also love skiing...there is a nice short 20foot Chevy motorhome C class on Hwy 4 just before Church road, even has room for your boys to come along in the van you'll just be wishing you had a shower/toilet, could have heat when skiing and not a SUP nose up yer butt when making food...think about it!...AND you're not handy, the moho rig doesn't need your swede saw prowess

Have to agree with Marcus on this too. (I think I agreed with him on something else once before) Nothing nicer then showers and having everything you need when traveling and doing your sports. Back of a van will just end up being a shit show to store gear with no room for you to camp or whatever. Still I think for two a raised roof van like a sprinter camperized properly with gear storage incorporated into the design would be pretty sweet just way more money than a moho. Let me know when you need help designing the interior and exterior rack system. Those things I can help with. Can't help you decide what to buy though...haha

Yes I am better. Dont worry. I havent even started to really shop. I will ramp things up in the next few weeks when the school term ends.

So far we just got some quotes from Sprinter dealers. One jackass offered us a fully loaded, long, tall Sprinter van for $63,000 OR......we could "Lease to Buy" the same vehicle....but the lease to buy payments present valued to approx $75,000....for the same vehicle. Not even worth calling him an idiot.

Will look at Transits as well. Thx

Keep in mind a long Transit or Sprinter is oversize on BC Ferries and not legal for regular parking stalls (is that actually enforced?) but the 144" wheelbases are.
