Inflatable Foil Board Repair Options

Unread post by NSMike »

Wondering if anyone has a lead on who can do a proper repair on an inflatable Fanatic Sky Air Premium board? (the "Premium" portion of the name being a misnomer)

Second time out the bottom front seam let go as I was standing on the beach attaching the leash to my ankle - not even out on the water or under any stress (the board, not me). Fanatic says there is no problem with its inflatable boards so it's not a valid warranty claim, apparently. Unbelievable.

Anyway, if anyone here has experience with someone on the Island or the mainland that fixes inflatables properly (foil boards, SUPs, boats, whatever) I would appreciate any leads. Only other option is to try to fix it myself failing which it's the landfill, and a lifelong commitment not to buy anything from Fanatic again. And yes, I know, people have had Fanatic products that worked well. I get it. I once had a VW Rabbit that didn't burn oil, believe it or not. But this is clearly a manufacturing defect.

Thanks for reading and hopefully this turns up a lead or two.

Sucks, but do you have a picture to assess the damage? Don't you have repair kit that came with the board? If not You can order the proper material online (or local shop including rafting companies) and DIY. It is not too difficult but follow the steps meticulously..

Sorry to hear.
I've had multiple successes with patching inflatable SUPs suffering a puncture. However, I've never tackeled a seam failure. That sounds like you mayneed a more complex professional fix from a repair shop. Perhaps Comox Kites may be able to help you.
Good luck.
