I think it's comparable if you look back at what that waterfront used to be. Before and during WW2 Spanish Banks was a military base ( RCAF station ), not a public beach. In the early 70's the base was shrunk with the northern part becoming Jericho Park, and the southern half remaining as Jericho Garrison.
