Confirmed (again) and info about water...

Post by lkg »

$17 a night for a tent, on the water - right across from the pit toilets that are currently closed. Apparently they need cleaning or something.

Also, the water at the campground is now "closed" for RVs I hear. The hose has been removed, and there are no threads on the tap for your own hose. I didn't confirm that (just heard) but from a reliable source.

Talked to the Park's dude who will be there all summer, on Saturday. RV's OK but over $20 per night. They're no longer charging for day use ! (that was a lame idea anyways). Not sure about the water etc. Per previous comment - situation normal i.e. random happenings depending on the moon.

I didn't see anyone at all today or yesterday so I stayed for free. Those toilets were mint, not sure what was up with the sign. I sat and enjoyed myself for a long while.

I was wondering what that was nibbling at my taint while I was sitting there. It tickled.

North Shore Rd.… At least up to the fallen tree… Was graded and in pretty decent shape. 8-9/10, some great stretches where trailers or motorhomes would have loved it. Tried the South Shore Rd. on the way out and it was pretty decent as well, 6 to 7/10. Had a nice scenic 2 Hour Dr. in the dust for no apparent reason, bit of a drag ....but maybe not

Any word on wifi at the village store? It was "coming soon (thursday)" when I was there on the 9th... but plans and facts don't necessarily agree. -Tom (if there isn't, I'll likely be stuck day-tripping it)

9/10 there via north shore, like driving on a groomer ski run.

7.5/10 back, maybe just in my head.

Paid $17 last night to a nice woman, first time paying this year so that's fair.

Store is clean and organized, friendly guy there. Not a lot of items and prices are high, but you don't have any other options!

Stupid hot. Felt like the warmest august days.

Sauna pieces are on the beach and ready to be reassembled.

All the soft stuff is gone and it's starting to get really hard pan with washboard and exposed rocks. Still better than potholes but it wrecks havoc with traction control, recommend turning that off if you want to go fast. All the dust has blown away (sort of) so it's surprisingly not bad.

7-7.5/10

I should update this. The cafe has wifi now. In theory it is $5 for 30 minutes, but apparently they don't enforce the time limit... latency is not good (600ms).

And Pat makes a damn good hamburger (not a cheap one though). -Tom
