design ideas flowing

Agreed...Otherside's ideas for BWD T and hoodie graphics will be sure to add some flash, and like Justin Timberlake sings, will bring 'sexy back'.

Keep the ideas and input coming. Thanks.

Yah....I will take the blame for confusing the T-shirt graphics and logo design discussions....

However, creative elements that show up in the T-shirt graphics can be considered for any new logo (eventually, maybe, some day, perhaps not at all), so the topics are sort of linked.

And there seems to be consensus that the logo will be on the T-shirt.

Anyhoo, I am still working on the "waterspout" T-shirt design. I will post a new version once I find a few more hours.

Earlier, I modified the "spiky fish" T-shirt design according to previous suggestions. I changed to a "bottom turn" windsurfer and added spray from the boards...here it is...

I like it, except for the "got wind" part. Those catch phrases are getting a little stale in my opinion.

After receiving much constructive advice (thank you to those that posted here and PM'd me), I have gone a slightly different direction (simpler). The reasoning is that this batch of hoodies should appeal to a larger group of people, so a simple design is better.

Also, my previous complicated designs were really beyond my skill level to complete well.

We can talk about T-shirts with a more detailed graphics later (I think it would be fun to have one done for the Oregon group).

Here are a few more prototypes.

I like this one in possibly a different font to match the clean look of the waves. Looks really clean and would look great on the back of a hoody!

Thanks Winddoc, I like that one too. I have 1500 fonts in CorelDraw now...I narrowed down the selection to 10 which I thought looked "clean". I favoured sans serif fonts which were wider rather than taller. I included a few "hand written" type fonts which may work as well.

It is a bit difficult to imagine those fonts with the graphic, so here is the graphic with my three favourite fonts (#1,3,5 above).

Oh, and I tweaked the graphic a bit so the blue wave is a bit skewed.

I like that graphic a lot. It's the same one that caught my eye from the posted links. I like the first or middle font. Simple and wearable.

looks fine

:P and an awesome effort 4J, thanks for designing the versions out there.... :P

that is if we really want to update the BWD logo which I am not in favor of but majority or Dave rules I guess. Any of these would look good on the back but if they are close to the current logo, it would be kinda redundant if coupled with the old logo on the chest ....if that is still planned, whereas the water spout (my fave still) is very different

I just need a new hoodie so when's the drop dead date :?: and a sample run

Looks really good 4j.
I like the upper one. Very clean lines.
If Ripcurl doesn't like it, we could put a "dot" near the top of the wave and it would turn into an eagle!

Yes I like the #1 font of the latest ShadowWave2-Fonts1-3-5.jpg too. Excellent work 4J!

I think this would look great on T's/Hoodies. Maybe have it on the front with the bigwavedave.ca lettering kept small, and have the original logo on the back as a small image near the top center of the shirt. Or, probably better, have this image on the back and the original logo, small on the left chest. ? What colour T's/hoodies would work with this...grey, black?

I think we may be narrowing down on a design...?
