Why not rig a leash from a FRONT line through the bar to an attachment on your bar ?
Is there any drawback to rigging a leash to a front line? Like a potential death spiral or something?
I'm currently trying to turn 2 older bars into 1 better bar and this sounds like a potential way to spin the bar and have a leash.

And ya... leashes for me from now on... definitely not worth putting a beach in jeopardy of being closed, nor is it worth the abuse on my gear.
While we really don't want to shut down a beach for something preventable, don't forget about the cost of beer too

http://www.oceanrodeo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7 .....I've never heard of a 'death spiral' from a front line safety, just make sure you have the span of the kite your side of any stopper.
Thermals are good.

Some of the 06 Bars come with an optional leash attachment to one of the front lines. For self landing\highwind.
I think to, that it depends on the kite, which line will flag the kite better. (least amount of pull and least amount of spins while flagging.)
There's always the way of the fifth line. Everyone I've talk to that has that set up likes it. :D

fifth lines are good for what they are intended to do, unfortunately like everything else they have their issues, such as wrapping the kite should it rollover in the surf or while sitting in the water.
Airtime! whoo hoooo, its all about the airtime...... ok waves rock too!
