I've often thought an 'Oysterman' would be fun. http://councill.home.mindspring.com/sbj ... index.html

Was The Kea a 25 foot wooden boat by any chances? http://www.abcbookworld.com/?state=view ... or_id=2655

Hi Dan- nope, it was a farrier design (copy or not, unsure) trimaran where the Ama's can be lifted up, could fit 3-4 maybe, two nicely in a very quick but also very small glass over ply boat. It was moored in Campbell River in the river marina. 8)

Wow Kus...you are good!! The Kea has now gone to a new home in Edmonton. We'll miss her. But here is a link to a pic, in case you are interested, Dan. http://www.buysell.com/root/detail/Brit ... ed_in.aspx

I think the idea was for people with set holiday time that wanted to explore an area (often remote without charter as an option) in their own boat. Probably cheaper than sailing it yourself even without the lost income factored in.

the concept is not only for people with time restraints but also for people who don't want to see open water,
I like the idea of an old Mc Gregor. only a few grand and trailerable.

thx for the reminder....the new F22 is now available, looks very nice and not like an overwhelming and all-dominating (read: time consuming) yacht

Love this one :D Image[/url]

Looks like a Moth to me [edit; oh, I see what you mean, misread it Sandy]. Foils are class-legal and almost universal now. I just missed seeing the Worlds at the Gorge when I was there.
